08.01.2022 Welcome to the BEC Team to Bronwyn Hatty!! We are so excited to have you on board. We thought you might like to get to know a bit about our new advisor. * What are you most excited about working on with the BEC?... I love helping & connecting people so I'm really looking forward to doing this in my role with the BEC. * Tell us about your business background My husband and I owned our own small business for over a decade which saw me learn skills in lots of different areas of the business but particularly HR and administration. I've also recently started an events business, Barefoot Events, which has been a fun startup journey. * What are your business specialties? I have a keen interest in marketing, developing strategic partnerships, using social media for business and event logistics. I also have a community development background working with Coolamon Shire Council so am particularly interested in assisting community organisations & those working within creative industries. * If you could spend time with someone who would it be and why? That's a tough one! Maybe Maggie Dent because I have 4 boys and need all the help I can get as they approach teenage years haha! If you would like to book in some time to chat with Bron send her an email to [email protected]

08.01.2022 The Southern Border Small Business Support Grant program has been extended until 31 October 2020 for eligible small businesses operating in the 13 impacted Local Government Areas. Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said the grant had been designed to help cushion the effects of the border restrictions on eligible NSW small businesses. This program is essential in helping keep businesses in business, and people in jobs as we set the state up for dynamic recovery, Mr Perrottet said.... Minister for Finance and Small Business Damien Tudehope said the extension would also allow businesses to apply who are located within the LGAs but have an ABN registered at another address. Small businesses are the backbone of our state. The Southern Border grant was established to provide targeted relief to those businesses near the border that need it most, Mr Tudehope said. More than 1,000 businesses have successfully applied for the grants, helping them to keep their lights on and doors open. The grant can only be used for eligible expenses incurred following the closure of the NSW and Victoria border on 8 July 2020 for which no other government support is available. More information on the new grants is available at www.service.nsw.gov.au/southern-border-small-business-suppo.
