24.01.2022 Definitely what we ALL need to be reminded of often!
21.01.2022 So very important! We can’t all climb trees, we can’t all swim. We all have different talents and different limitations! Our kids need to understand it’s okay to be themselves.
17.01.2022 Here’s some great YouTube channels for primary school aged kids
17.01.2022 We are now accepting students for the last term of the 2019 year and for our Catch up and start ahead summer program. This program will help students in any year fill in the missing building blocks and help your child start the new year successfully. It is highly recommended for students finishing year 7, 8, and 9. For many, waiting until the new school year to start working on their remedial math skills puts them at a disadvantage, as they are constantly playing catch u...p to what is being taught in their class. Regular help throughout the summer and at the beginning of the school year allows your child to review the materials being taught ahead of their class, therefore able to follow more of what is going on in their classroom (and increasing their confidence as they are able to grasp the concepts being taught). Summer rates: 1-2 hrs per week: $40/hr 3+ hrs per week: $35/hr Please contact Becca for more information.

11.01.2022 A very important reminder to all adults. It takes a village to raise a child, and we all have influence over the young minds around us.
05.01.2022 Great news! There are now TWO tutors available. AMI is a trained educational assistant who works with primary students. She charges $25/hour and is available to tutor in your home. Welcome, Ami! BECCA is a teacher from Canada with 15 years experience. B.Sc, B.Ed. She has taught grades one through twelve and has taught all levels (remedial, main stream, advanced) of math and science (biology & chemistry) in years 7 through 11. ... If your child has difficulties with self esteem, time management, organization, motivation or has a learning disability, she can help identify the obstacles and create a plan for success. Tutoring is available in her home (Cooloongup). BECCA charges $40-50/hr, depending on the number of hours per week and the age of your child. Please contact her to discuss what is best for your child. She is also available to tutor adults in English, maths, science, and French. (Adult sessions can be mornings or afternoons.) I love working with students one-on-one so I can build a relationship with them and help them overcome their obstacles. It is so rewarding to see a child smile and feel proud of what they have accomplished. These are the main goals of my tutoring, and parents have shared with me how the self esteem of their child has increased (as well as their report card marks!) Because each child is unique, I use multiple assessment techniques and lots of activities that teach through multiple intelligences: games, songs, drill sheets, flashcards, written work, oral work, etc. ~~~~~ Students are sent home with daily homework assignments (approx. 10 minutes/day) to do in between tutoring sessions, as daily practice is ESSENTIAL for success. (We also share lots of activities that parents can use to sneak maths into their daily schedule, like driving in the car.)
