19.01.2022 Monday 10 August - National National Cabinet endorsed the Freight Movement Code for the Domestic Border Controls Freight Movement Protocol. In accordance with this Code the following measures will be enforceable in each state and territory that implements border controls, unless specified.... The National Freight protocol could commence as early as Wednesday 12 August, however each individual state has up until Monday 17 August to implement the protocol. The NHVR is encouraging all operators to begin implementing additional measures within their business as soon as possible as outlined in the protocol. The additional enforceable measures include: A valid border permit or equivalent approvalA COVID Safe workplan with mutual recognition for plans from other jurisdictionsCarrying and using COVID-19 related Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when social distancing is not possible including An appropriate face maskHand sanitiserGlovesEvidence that a COVID-19 test has been carried out within a period no less than 7 days since the time of arrival into a state or territory and not exceeding a rolling 14 daysRecord keeping for contact tracing purposes to be kept and retainedEffective self-isolation where practicable when workingNo passengers, unless required for the purposes of work (for example two up drivers) While mandatory testing is not yet a requirement in all states, the NHVR encourages all drivers to be mindful of their own safety and to start self-testing on a 7 day basis. For heavy vehicle testing sites, check the NHVR Map. We will continue to update these heavy vehicle friendly testing sites in our route planner as we receive official advice from individual states.

09.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland borders will close to another New South Wales hotspot. In response to further outbreaks and on the advice of Queenslands Chief Health Of...ficer the city of Fairfield NSW has been added to our list of COVID hotspots. The directive takes effect from 1am, Monday, July 27. Anyone travelling to Queensland who has been in Fairfield in the previous 14 days will be directed to hotel quarantine for 14 days at their own expense. 46 cases have been identified in Fairfield connected to an outbreak at the Thai Rock restaurant. The declaration adds Fairfield to declarations in effect for travellers from Campbelltown, Liverpool and Victoria.

08.01.2022 After much deliberation, the Brisbane Convoy for Kids Committee have been left with little option but to cancel the 2020 Convoy and Family Fun Day which was due... to be held on 7th November 2020. This is because of the uncertainty of Covid-19 restrictions and the difficulties in having a Covid-19 Safe Plan approved. The wellbeing of our volunteers, convoy participants and the many supporters that help make the day a success is our number one priority. Brisbane Convoy for Kids Committee would also like to acknowledge the many companies (both large and small) who sponsor us every year. With the current economic climate caused by Covid-19 we realize that many of these companies are struggling themselves but still wish to remain a part of Convoy and for this we extend our heartfelt thanks. For those that have purchased our 2020 Pink Merchandise we will be retaining the Hot Pink colour for our 2021 event so hang on to it. Cancelling this years event doesnt mean we will be resting on our laurels though as we have a lot of exciting things still planned for this year and the committee will be striving to work towards a bigger and better 2021 event. 01.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland borders will close to New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory from 1am this Saturday, August 8. All visitors will be denied en...try except for rare exemptions and returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. Queenslands Chief Health Officer has declared all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory as hotspots. Only residents of border communities and essential workers, such as truck drivers, will be able to cross the border. Exemptions including for compassionate reasons will be limited. Passes for border communities will be for those with proof of address and photo ID. The border closure will be reviewed at the end of the month. #covid19au
