24.01.2022 Market time! On Saturday we head to Bellarine Farmers Market at ocean grove park 9am till 1pm. We will have all your favorite local honeys and once again we wont have any tastings available. Please keep the 1.5 meters from others. Stall holders will be 3 meters apart , hand sanitizers will be thoughout the entire market.

22.01.2022 When your hives are over flowing no not with honey but bees. The 2 first photos are frames of brood (young developing bees) this queen has been very busy. There are 8 frames in a box where the queen is located and they are all like that. Lucky I came to check on them or they would have swarmed in about a week . I will be taking a spilt off these hives make 1 hive into 2 hives.

The bees will be working in over drive bringing alot of pollen and nector in from local canola crops , cape weed and many other flowering trees or plants and breeding in big numbers. With all that comes swarms so if you lucky enough for one of these swarms to hit a backyard near you swing us a message or call us we can remove them for you . 10.01.2022 Some Canola crops are just about to come into flower ,bees love canola they get alot of pollen and nectar and start breeding in big numbers which is great for us beekeepers to have strong hives at the start of a spring honey flow. We will start moving hives to approx 200 acres of canola in the next couple days. Canola honey is not like canola oil which can be bad for health If you have alot ,canola honey has just as many properties as other honeys do but does crystallize much faster than other honeys ,from liquid honey to hard honey within a 7 day period once extracted. Canola honey is mainly used in cooking.
