24.01.2022 And here are the parent Wedge tails teaching their 2 young how to catch rabbits.

20.01.2022 When it is evening in spring..... hard decisions about whether to play or to eat!

20.01.2022 It isn’t often that triplets all survive and thrive at the milk bar but this Ewe is doing a good job .......

18.01.2022 We have recently listed the whole of house on AirBnb and there have been so many bookings - be quick if you want to book a long weekend as they are rapidly disappearing for 2018.

17.01.2022 A good inside day to make some Beckworth Retreat lamb sausages

16.01.2022 So pleased all our River Red Gums have bounced back better than ever after the lerps on the leaves from the psyllids in the last 18 months! They are all looking fantastic (despite shortage of rain) and especially this big one which our family of eagles decided to nest in this year.

13.01.2022 Look what we woke up to this morning.....the Lollipop Tree is just visible on top of Mt Beckworth

12.01.2022 Today Dylan, Bel and Cadarn (right to left) arrived at Beckworth Retreat from Tickenhall Alpacas. They will look after the mob of Dorper Ewes as they start lambing next month but at the moment they are checking out their new 100 acre Creek Paddock.

12.01.2022 What does an orphan lamb play with when it is snowing/hailing/too cold outside....

12.01.2022 Still no rain.... but the first of the lambs have arrived! The Alpaccas are great guards but they can’t be every at once as you see from the first photo of the circling fox on a ewe and lamb born this morning.

10.01.2022 This Ewe just had her lambs - worth all the intense nursing over the last 4 weeks.

10.01.2022 So lambing is over for another season. Thanks to the early morning fox shooters we didn’t lose too many lambs. And to very lucky Spot who got rescued from the blackberries- lucky we were walking past and heard the plaintive bleeeat as he had fallen down the cliff!

10.01.2022 How gorgeous is this almond blossom. Even more remarkable is that the trees are 160+ years old!

06.01.2022 Fire restrictions have lifted so its time to toast the marshmallows on the fire outside...

06.01.2022 And suddenly cold enough to have the fire going inside. Cosy and warm.

05.01.2022 Time for the Crab Apple to feed the bees

02.01.2022 We have been having some interesting skies with the afternoon thunderstorms in recent weeks. At last some rain too.....

02.01.2022 No, it’s not my imagination- there is a green tinge already after water-tank saving 8mm of rain on the weekend. It’s autumn when you have to think about putting the underfloor heating on in the bathroom and the snug gumboots on to go out in the morning! But the days are glorious.

01.01.2022 As usual every season everything has browned off over the Christmas break. And the Dorper Ewes/Lambs are easy to move as they just follow a bucket!

01.01.2022 Working on the tree plantations now in their 2nd summer - feeling safe with good protection in the long dry grass. Manna Gum, Long leaf Box, Messmate, Red and Yellow Box.
