21.01.2022 Blindingly beautiful! Look what our community created at the last Live Be & Co.!! Tomorrow we meet again for the next instalment of the Hawkesbury Mosaic Project. We will be starting on the biggest of the 3 circles. Each person chooses a portion of the circle to create their own unique mosaic masterpiece. Marian Shapiro (local mosaic artist) then puts the puzzle together to create a whole. We want as many people as possible to add their flavour to this artwork that will be mo...unted on the External wall of the Library/Gallery. Dont be shy. No experience necessary. Come and join us tomorrow for a free coffee, some great home baking, Harmony FM beats, a chat and a spot of mosaic. Rex Stubbs Memorial Gardens, 17th September, 9.30am to 12md.

20.01.2022 A handful of our residents joined Be & Co. Hawkesbury today alongside a few friendly members of our community. The topic of the day was "Calm your Farm which o...ffered simple yet effective strategies to help manage anxiety in our daily lives. The residents really enjoyed discussing places that bring them peace, like the gardens, or reading a good book, to sharing memories of peaceful places from their childhood. Thank you so much for extending an invitation to us and for sharing the morning with our residents. - The Fitzgerald Aged Care Team

19.01.2022 CLOSING AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!!!!! HAVE YOUR SAY IN NAMING OUR COMMUNITY MOSAIC Have your say - naming the mosaic survey closes tonight, 3rd November, midnight At the last Be & Co., a group of regular Be & Co.-ers came together to brainstorm ideas that capture the heart and soul of the Hawkesbury Mosaic Project.... Ideas were collated and refined to a short list: Reflections of the Hawkesbury Community Connections The Hawkesbury Matrix Richly Woven Stories Circles of Love Mural of Interconnections A Sense of Place A Patchwork of Lives Which one best captures the mosaic project for you? Click on the link below to make your choice. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HCL8RTR Results will be collated in just 72 hours. Survey closes Tuesday, 3rd Nov. at midnight. Link in bio above. Read more about our project below: Help us name the Mosaic Project. We need the community to help us make the final choice, since it is YOUR artwork! All you have to do is click on the link below and choose one answer, then click DONE and you're done! It's as easy as that. When considering the name, we ask that you consider the ideas behind the project and choose the name that best resonates for you. About the project The mosaic comprises 4 circles that reflect the local area, with the river as a central, linking motif and a patchwork of fields surrounding it. 57 people completed a total of 68 sections that were then slotted into place within the circles. All the pieces make a whole, and the whole is more than the sum of its parts. This is our community, full of individual stories of real lives and when we connect with each other, great things happen. Lead by Marion Shapiro, local mosaic artist, and funded by Hawkesbury City Council, the artwork has provided a wonderful opportunity for our community to reconnect. Three circles have been created at Be & Co. and one circle at Fitzgerald Aged Care, during an online Be & Co. The pieces will be installed on one of the walls outside the Gallery/Library. The GREAT UNVEIL will be held on the 26th of November at Be & Co., so make sure you save the date! Vote here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HCL8RTR

17.01.2022 Wow! What an amazing way to kick-off Be & Co. live events in the Rex Stubbs Memorial Gardens. On the 3rd of September, we came together in person for the first time in five months. One could not miss the chance to observe the new beginnings of Spring and the simultaneous beginnings of our Hawkesbury Mosaic Project. We were kissed by the warmth of sunshine and the radiance of reconnection with friends new and old. It was instantly evident that the community have missed Be & ...Co. Regulars greeted each other with joy and there were many exclamations of how much they have missed Be & Co. People also expressed how glad they were to once again have the space to connect with each other. And Harmony Radio played the tunes to get creative juices flowing. We managed to complete the smallest of the three pieces, which was a great first effort. Look forward to more on the 17th Sept. Come and join us - no experience necessary!

12.01.2022 Join us tomorrow online for our special and talented guest Marion Shapiro. Link in comments Hawkesbury Mosaic Project Hawkesbury Mosaic Project aims to produce a community mosaic artwork, which will be fabricated during Be & Co sessions and will reflect the local landscape. Local artist, Marion Shapiro, will lead the project and facilitate the sessions, with significant input from the Regional Gallery and the two Michelles.... Once completed, the mosaic artwork will be installed on one of the walls outside the gallery/Library and visible at every Be & Co. event. Marion has scoped out the project and is envisaging a modular design which can be extended later if wanted and enable other projects or organisations to make their own module/s to add at a later date. These Modular pieces could potentially be created across the region and brought together in a collective piece, further adding to community collaboration. @ Be & Co. Hawkesbury
12.01.2022 Join us tomorrow morning at 10am on Zoom for our community event. This week our good friend Jonathan Stonebraker is our guest speaker answering questions on all things legal. Ive just included a brief insight into our project. Social isolation is one of the significant contributing factors to mental/emotional distress. Humans are wired to be social. When we connect with others, we have a sense of belonging, which positively improves our mood and outlook on life. Unfortunate...ly, many people experience loneliness in our community. This could be for many reasons, including bereavement, disability, relationship breakdowns, traumatic events, low mood, children leaving home, illness or loss of confidence through adverse life events. Once connections are lost, it can be challenging to get the wheel back in motion. Thats where simple community-led initiatives can be of great benefit. One such program is Hawkesbury Be & Co. Be = A place to Be, to Belong, to Become. Co. = Collaborative, Connection, Community (Coffee, Conversation). Be & Co. aims to: , Establish a safe place where people can connect with each other and get the access to supports that they need to recover. Funded by Wentworth Health, provider of the NBM Primary Health Network, Be & Co. is a collaborative community social event. Link below in comments

11.01.2022 Announcement 2020 Fundraiser 2020 has been a rough year for all! It would be so easy to cruise to the end of the year and hope for... a better year next year! It then hit me that even though its been rough for us there are always people out there who need our support!! So we are going to step it up and run a 30 Day challenge to bring awareness to mental health. We need you to get involved! Grab your friends and do our daily challenges. How does that help? All we ask is that you sacrifice $1 per challenge for the 30 days of September! Together we can create change and build a stronger community. We are raising money for Be & Co. Hawkesbury and the amazing work they do within our town. Tag someone below who needs to do this with you. You dont need to be part of our bootcamp to get involved! Lets raise money to support our community! Look out for more info

09.01.2022 We don't know if we're more honored or excited to be a part of the Be & Co. Hawkesbury Mosaic Project. This project aims to produce a community mosaic artwork, ...that once completed, will be installed on one of the walls outside the gallery/Library in Windsor. Our residents and staff have been hard at work over the past few days completing their very own individual pieces under the watchful and very talented eyes of local artist, Marion Shapiro, and the two lovely Michelles at Be & Co. Hawkesbury. We think Michelle Hookham summed this amazing project up perfectly by saying " What a fabulous way to reconnect our community after the extended period of reduced contact. This will make the project even more meaningful and a true celebration of connection". Thank you to everyone who helped make this exciting opportunity possible for our residents. - The Fitzgerald Aged Care Team
09.01.2022 JOIN US: this Thursday 11th for our free online event, a discussion about coping with grief and loss in our busy lives, particularly in this strange new period we are experiencing and travelling through. Grief and loss is not just about bereavement, interesting subject so come along for a light discussion on this topic. In the meantime heres an excerpt from our newsletter, if youd like to be on our mailing list PM me your email address and well add you: Be & Co. continues ...to provide support to people who need it Be & Co. online social events are receiving very positive feedback. We are also starting to notice that people feel better through connecting with each other. Here are a couple of examples. At Be & Co. on the 4th, we had one person share with us that they were "not the greatest today, but its nice that youre here. It helps take your mind off whats wrong. Its the connection." We also had a person feeling very low and not wanting to get out of bed. They decided to join Be & Co. and reported that they were glad they joined us as they felt much better after and decided to motivate themselves to stay out of bed and get on with life. you are probably all eager to hear when you might find Be & Co. social events popping up again in the Rex Stubbs Memorial Garden. I can assure you that we are as keen as you to return, however we need to be guided by Council and Wentworth Healthcare (who fund Be & Co.) with regards to the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. I will keep you updated as soon as we have word that we can return to the garden! Big Love from us all at Be & Co....maintaining connection in our communities. @ Be & Co.
