After a phone interview with Tenille Reilly (ABBTF's Industry Engagement Officer Qld/SA), Liam Moller was out on trial the very next day with Craig Palfreyman from Blockbuild Queensland Pty Ltd and has not looked back since. Liam had nothing but great reviews from his employer Craig and was very excited when we officially had Liam Moller signed up as a bricklaying apprentice a month later.

18.01.2022 Congratulations to young Ayden Keen of Wroxton Developments for completing these projects in his 3rd and final year at NMTAFE Balga. Whilst some may point out that these projects are not replicated in Industry that often, they do demonstrate the underpinning knowledge expected of our apprentices at this level culminating high end competencies. 12.01.2022 A big thankyou to South Metropolitan TAFE (PM's Dave Robinson, Glen Hickey and Lecturers Todd Cherry and Gordon Harrison) for hosting a walk through their facility for BGC and Brikmakers last Friday at their Rockingham Campus. It is not often that a CEO of a big building company has the time for these sorts of things, however Danny Cooper certainly enjoyed the "Meet and Greet" as did Vince Scarvaci Brikmakers General Manager. They where also flanked by Bill Swerlowycz and Den...nis Druzianich also from Brikmakers. Local Secondary School VETIS school students also put on a good show, demonstrating their skills as did ABN Bricklaying Apprentices Ethan Teo and Brandon Woodhouse. BGC group of companies remain one of West Australia's biggest building groups with interests in residential and commercial construction, manufacturing and property. Thankyou again to everyone that made the effort to be involved.

08.01.2022 For those of you wanting to enter the Building & Construction Industry - here is some great news! FREE SHORT COURSE IN WA OFFERS PATHWAY TO BRICKLAYING APPRENTICESHIPS. The Bricklaying Job Ready program was developed in consultation with the ABBTF, Construction Training Fund and other key industry partners to create a pipeline of qualified bricklayers to meet the needs of WA's building industry, which is booming thanks to the State Government's $20,000 bonus, with the stimu...lus generating enough construction work to last through to 2022. The pilot program will be delivered by North Metropolitan TAFE, South Metropolitan TAFE, and private training provider Skill Hire. The program will be reviewed at the completion of the first course with a view to it being expanded to regional WA. Employers who sign up to the program will be able to access State and Australian Government incentives and wage subsidies. Thinking about a career in construction?
