23.01.2022 It is one of my great joys to support Tassie Mums - they are an amazing local charity run by such lovely and dedicated volunteers! Please consider supporting their Christmas Appeal this year - maybe you'd like to get a box together at your workplace to collect the items on their Christmas wishlist for Tasmanian families in need this holiday season ... Please support our Christmas Appeal - most items on our wish list can be found in the supermarket, please consider adding a few items to your trolley when you're next walking the aisles of your grocery store . #tassiemumswishlist

21.01.2022 Safety first! I read the other day that Aussies will drive more carefully with a pavlova in the car than with children, so I made this! If you need to print it off and stick it to your back windscreen tomorrow you have my blessing. Drive safe out there everyone with yourself, your families and your pavs! 19.01.2022 Day 1-9 of inktober 2019! I’ve been working my way through the Australian birdtober prompts - digital ink rather than traditional

19.01.2022 Breathe in - breathe out. There’s a lot of uncertainly and unknowns in the world at the moment and like many I’ve been feeling pretty damn overwhelmed. Last year I was diagnosed with a degenerative autoimmune disease, pretty shitty, but one thing I’ve been giving a go since then is focusing on breathing, slowing down and stepping back. It’s certainly not always easy, and it might not change what’s actually going on, but a moment of calm has helped me to reframe and refocus and move forward. Give it a go xxx

18.01.2022 Day 10-18 inktober 2019 - so many birds! Do you have any favourite birds you like to see me draw? 12 birds to go!

18.01.2022 A little work in progress play! In between my commercial design projects I try a squeeze in a little time for my personal arty illustration projects! My all-time favourite animal is the weedy sea dragon - so beautiful! This one needs some texture added I will source just off the coast from a local seadragon colony near Tinderbox. I haven’t had much of a chance to work on my personal illustrations recently, so I’m sorry I’ve been a bit quiet - commercial work and teaching keeping me very busy I was reminded recently that making time for your passions is important soul food!

18.01.2022 Weedy sea dragon texture finished, and a little fun with kelp (kelp would make great earrings don’t you think!?) Did you know seadragons are only found in Australia? Did you know their snout is like a straw that they suck up microorganisms through? Amazing creatures! #australia #australiananimals #seadragon #weedyseadragon #kelp #kelpforest #illustrator #tasmania #tasmanianillustrators #vectorillustration #protectouroceans #hobart #animalfacts

18.01.2022 Happy wattle day This wattle wreath is a golden oldie of mine and I have so much love for our native florals! Did you know I got sooooooo into native florals I made vector sets of these illustrations (plus gum, banksia, bottlebrush, grevillea and protea (not native to Australia but loved so much!)) that you can download and use in your own designs?! Fun! They’re on Creative market - DM me for a direct link

17.01.2022 Back Burner 2019 is nearly here! 22 Tasmanian graphic designers (including myself!) have been hard at work to bring to you a selection of artworks that feature techniques or ideas that have been on the ‘back burner’. We would love to see you there! Opening night, 6pm next Thursday the 14th, and showing until April 6th at Moonah Arts Centre - thank you to AGDA Tasmania for their generous support of this project. Co-curated by Poco People & Becski

17.01.2022 It's always such a pleasure working with Kelly at Poco People - this project was to help create the illustrations for Seniors Week 2020. COTA (Council On The Ageing) Tasmania Seniors week 2020 events guide out now!

15.01.2022 You are legally required to say ‘OH, BIG STRECH!’ when your pet stretches - It’s The Law It’s a long weekend here in Hobart town - and I’m alllllll about the lazy stretches on the couch, cuddles with Shadow-Ninja my WHS cat*, listening to murder mystery audiobooks and drawing cats for no other reason than the joy of it I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend whereever you are - give your pets and snuggle from me! *he’s my WHS cat because he regularly interrupts my work to make sure I avoid computer eye-strain and also back-strain by standing up to give scritches - what a thoughtful cat!

13.01.2022 It's been such a delight for me to work on the illustrations for Seniors week 2020! If you or someone you know is interested, follow the link to get involved

12.01.2022 Christmas Sale sleepy Australian animal Christmas cards (swipe to see all the designs), 15cm square $5 each plus postage (DM via Facebook to order)

10.01.2022 I was scrollie-scrollie-scrolling and I came across an advert for a yoga video service, the featured video had a gorgeous curvy woman - and being a curvy woman myself I thought ‘awesome! Represent!’ ... but then I read the comments (never read the comments!) ‘great to see a REAL woman’s body’ and ’finally and advertisement showing what a REAL woman looks like’ oh no, no, no! Being curvy is no more ‘real’ than ANY other shape or size! I got a bit of a bee in my bonnet and de...cided to draw this with the words that came to mind ‘Keep it REAL & scrap the IDEAL’. All of these bodies and so many more are REAL women’s bodies - so much more joy and variation then I can draw! Shout out to all my ladies - curvies, skinnies, tall, small, wide hips, narrow hips, saggy, muscly, big boobs, small boobs, long hair, frizzy hair, no hair, body hair - don’t care, you’re ALL real! Be healthy and happy in your own skin Xxx Becski #keepitreal #realwomen #yoga #yogaposes #illustration #positivemessage #selflove #happyandhealthy #yogalove #stretch #everybody #womenofillustration #women #woman #feminist #feministart #onmymind #procreate #drawing #inclusion See more

06.01.2022 This is my simple wish for 2020 - Be Kind - be kind to those near & far, be kind to our planet, be kind to friends & strangers, most of all be kind to yourself. 2019 was a particularly rough year for me, so please be kind 2020, we step out in hope! Happy new decade everyone xx becski

04.01.2022 Lake Esperance - Hartz Mountain National Park, Tasmania. I’ve been taking a bit of a break from design and illustrating to reflect, rest, hang out with my 4 kidlets and soak in some much needed Tasmanian wilderness goodness! Nature feeds me in a way that nothing else can - do you relate?? The Lake Esperance walk is a very ‘doable’ bush walk for a family - 1.5 hours return with beautiful sub-alpine flora along the way such as Tasmanian Waratah and cushion plants (in bloom at the moment!) If you’re lucky you might even see some Tasmanian fauna (though we only saw evidence ) If you’re heading that way, there’s a fabulous playground in Geeveston and we had a top-notch coffee at @harvestandlight (plus I picked up some yummy pickles!)

03.01.2022 #inktober 2019 complete! 31 birds finished- phew! Even though it's the end of the month, I'm thinking about drawing 5 more birds to finish off the grid! From the previous suggestions I have Black cockatoo and pink robin - any others you'd like to see?

01.01.2022 Back Burner 2019 is open! Thank-you, thank-you to those of you who were able to come to our opening event! A record 4 openings in one night for MAC!! Take yourself along to have a look at what some of our amazing tassie commercial creatives are up to in their spare time until April 6. Here is a pic of my finished spray paint mural straight to the gallery wall Remember when you wanted what you have now ~ Love tokens from my children; shells, feathers and slightly crushed flo...wers. Generation after generation children gift their parents the small joys they find in the world worthless to the onlooker priceless to the receiver. This season is fleeting, too soon my children have grown beyond gifting me unusual sticks, brightly coloured leaves and sad husks of beetles, just as I did with my own mother and so with this painting, here for a time and then gone. ~ See more

01.01.2022 Finished! This signal box art has been named ‘Emblem’ and has been an absolute joy to paint and I hope you enjoy it too Hobart! The artwork celebrates a Eucalyptus Globulus which is the native floral emblem of Tasmania, on Corner of Molle and Davey Streets! Thanks to @creativehobart @cityofhobarttas & @urban_smart_projects for the opportunity #hobart #tasmania #signalbox #mural #streetart #tasmanianartist #illustration #australianbirds #eucalyptusglobulus
