24.01.2022 Welcome to Summer!! To keep you up to date with what’s going on at the Bedford Bowling Club we have listed some important dates for the Club in December. 4th December An Afternoon Tea is being held at the Club at 3pm to acknowledge our regular volunteers who help out around the Club. 5th December is World Volunteer Day.... 4th December Friday Night Pennants are being played at the Club tonight. Teams from Cambridge, Bassendean and Nollamara are visiting the Club. 4th December Friday Night Meals will be available at the Club. Bowlers from the visiting teams have been invited and members are encouraged to come along, enjoy a meal and support our Friday Night Pennant players. Sunday 6th Ladies’ Club Championship Singles Day 1 and Men’s Consistency Singles Day 1 Tuesday 8th Final Night of Jack Attack Lite. Wednesday 9th At 4pm there will be a ceremony to place the ashes of the late Donald McDonald in the rose garden at the Club. This will be followed immediately by a wake for Don at the Club. Don requested that those attending wear Hawaiian shirts or brightly coloured clothing on the day. Friday 11th Friday Night Meals are available tonight and Karaoke will be held at the Club for the last time in 2020. It will return in 2021 because of a growing interest from the wider community. Saturday 12th Comedy Night at the Bedford Bowling Club. Tickets are still available from the Club and includes a meal and a night of fun and laughs. Why not get a table together and come along. Sunday 13th Ladies’ Club Championship Singles Day 2 and Men’s Consistency Singles Day 2 Wednesday 16th Mixed Wednesday Competition Format to be advised. AM and PM games, BYO lunch. Wednesday 16th Final Management Committee meeting for 2020. Friday 18th Friday Night Ladies’ Pennants will once again be held at Bedford. The visiting reams will be Cambridge, Bassendean, Mount Lawley, Morley and Scarborough. Why not come along and support your current Friday Night Champion Ladies teams. Friday 18th MLM will be serving meals at the Club for the last time in 2020. Sunday 20th Ladies Club Championship Singles final Thursday 24th The Club will close at the end of trading today for the Christmas break. The Club will re-open for 2021 on Saturday, 2nd January. 21.01.2022 Have you ever thought about bowls? Jack Attack Lite is a fast-paced and fun way to try bowls for the first time. And no experience is necessary! At the Bedford Bowling Club we have everything you need to join in, including bowls and some friendly advice!! Games go for just over an hour so the timing is suitable for all ages. Get your workmates together or bring your family. The 6 week season begins next Tuesday, 27/10 at 6pm and we only have two spots left in our competition. 20.01.2022 Bedford Bowling Club October/November Update Activities are really ramping up at the Club with the season now just around the corner. In some sort of order here are a few things that are on our schedule over the next month or so. Members can expect to receive an update each month that will be a reminder of significant upcoming Club and social events:... Tue. 27th October Round 2 of the Ladies Tuesday Pennants played today. Tue. 27th October Our first season of Jack Attack Lite will commence on Tuesday, 27th October. This fast paced three-person team format is aimed at increasing the local community involvement in social bowls and interest has been solid. We have just a few team places remaining in the 12 team format that will start around 6.30pm on Tuesday nights and be completed (with a Sausage Sizzle) by 8.30pm each night. The season will run thru to early December. Our Community Bowls program will run in the new calendar year and will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. More details on the 2021 Community Bowls program will follow in a future update. Thursday 29th October Round 1 of Men’s mid-week pennants played today. Fri. 30th October Friday Night Meals and Raffles and Karaoke on at the Club. Sun. 1st November Day 1 of the Men’s Club Championship Fours to be played today. Tue. 3rd November Melbourne Cup Day. The Melbourne Cup Sweep is currently on the notice board at the Club. Happy punting!! Fri. 6th November Friday Night Meals and Raffles on at the Club. His is a big day for the Club and a great chance to showcase our upgraded clubhouse and greens. We are expecting 24 teams from around the metro area and the Bedford ladies will require assistance with setting up (after mid-week pennants) and again during the Gala Day. Some health issues are restricting some of the usual helpers, so some extra effort is required by the rest of us. More details closer to the event. Fri. 27th November The much-anticipated PAELLA NIGHT is back on. Originally scheduled for earlier in the year, the night was cancelled because of you know-what! Well, it’s back on. Professional Paella chefs, plenty of salads and other treats and perhaps even some Spanish Karaoke for later in the evening. Over 100 people booked for the first night so get in early as we may still have COVID restrictions to deal with. Get a group together and ring the Club now on 9370 2454 to book a table. Keep a watch out for more details on some events as they get close. 19.01.2022 To Mark International Volunteers Day on Friday afternoon the Bedford Bowling Club held a Thank You afternoon tea for our terrific band of regular volunteers. Their ongoing commitment to the BBC is very much appreciated. Marie Cassidy was there proudly displaying her 25 year Volunteering badge presented by the WA State Government for her dedicated library work. Thank you to all participants for your ongoing contribution to the BBC.

This week’s menu includes a delicious share plate for 2 people that includes a fabulous collection of Greek delights.. Why not get a table together or just make it a date night. After kind words from his closest friends Donald’s ashes were scattered in the rose garden behind C green. Ahead of a wake in the Club house. Special thanks to Kerry & Ron for their contribution.
