20.01.2022 o n e t i n y i s l a n d - the Gibson-Abbott wanderings around this one tiny island in an enormous universe. Hot as hell, this place. It hit 43C one of the days, and its the kind of place that makes it very difficult to escape the heat, or the flies, or the ants, or the heat at all. We found a fabulous van site, however, which made our stay quite magical. It was called Beds on the Barwon, and it was a relatively new set up. The powered camp/caravan sites we hooked up... to were finished in October 2014, and power in just this February. It was right on the Barwon River, which was pretty full as far as rivers out there go. Lined with magnificent River Redgums, shade was plentiful and the roos greeted us for brekky. Our hosts Mel and Grant were wonderful bush people too. Firstly, Its the Namoi, not the Darling at Walgett, als...o there most certainly was plenty of stones within 50 mile, although I didn't pelt it over the silent stream to prove anything. Moving on, they certainly know how to paint a toilet block in Brewarrina, and build flying fish. We stayed at "Beds on The Barwon", with some lovely river views See more

Such a close call Long time travel companions Cheryl and Gary have now joined in our holiday adventures we have found a gem of a campground!! (See below!) Some not so awesome things Logistics of having rain with kids in a small camper can be struggle - thank god for play doh Our Camp for the nights Beds on the Barwon - Brewarrina We absolutely loved this caravan park!! From it’s camp kitchen to awesome showers this is a family run caravan park on their property which they have done so well. Nestled on the river of the Barwon it is a lovely spot to relax, fish or catch up with others around the fire. Highly recommend staying here! (Note not much to do at Brewarrina tho and this park is out of town) Cobar Being the only caravan park in Cobar not much choose from, it’s nice well maintained park with clean facilities. It’s nothing to praise about and is good for you stop over in the town. Our next Camp....
