25.01.2022 Have you had any of these thoughts today? Am I a good mum? Are you happy? Why cant I do this? ... These are thoughts that many of us mums think daily. There is no right answer other than you are doing the best job that you can. Be gentle on yourself, to your little people you are their world. You are enough and youve got this. Tomorrow is a new day! Much love xx xx Image by @catiewaterworth

25.01.2022 This is what happens when you wake up too early- safe to say he didnt finish his lunch

24.01.2022 With the recent announcement in Victoria (Australia) this is very fitting. It’s so hard currently for so many without the support of friends and family, however now stage 4 will see many struggle even more. . Please call, FaceTime, stay connected, and look after yourself. . I am here for anyone who may just want a chat or if you need any support: ... Sending love and strength, let’s do this so we can hopefully return back to some normality soon. Mel xx

24.01.2022 Youve got this- we will get through. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

23.01.2022 Some of us are waking up to more lockdowns. If your in the areas listed here are some great resources for you to try with your little ones. (Even if youre not some great ideas for the holidays) . Heres hoping that we can get through this and all do the right thing, if we dont we will all be going through it again. . My family and I visited a park on the weekend (actually 3) and turned around at all of them, much to the disappointment of our children because they were packed! No physical distancing way more than what was allowed to be there and we felt very uneasy. My husband is a very easygoing and relaxed man but even he was not comfortable. I want to get back to normal life but this is not normal life and we still need to be so vigilant with our safety and for those around us!

22.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all my clients, past clients, family and friends. Hope your day was filled with cuddles with your kiddies, FaceTime calls, hand made cards and love. It was a very different one that many of us are used to but hope that you all could celebrate in the best way you could. I am so grateful that I was chosen to be the mummy of my three beautiful children. I was super spoilt! To my mum words cant express my gratitude and love, my mother in law, my sister in laws and my friends all the most amazing mums- happy Mothers Day. You all should be so proud. #muchlovetoday

19.01.2022 On another note, we cant forgot the daddys. They do get forgotten about at times through this parenting gig. I appreciate my childrens dad and husband more than he knows (although he will read this on here and now know ) Big hugs to you all! #parenting #fathers #dads #daddies #parenthood #youareamazing #keepitup

18.01.2022 Im not sure who needed to hear this today but I did. You are doing a great job! My kids are my world, I am and will continue to give my best to them. They are my happy, my safe place, my insanity, my crazy and all my love combined in one. Just because we cant be there for one another in person at the moment doesnt mean that we cant pick up the phone, write a letter, FaceTime, Skype, house party or whatever else social media throws at you. #youaredoingagreatjob #beliveinyourself #enjoythemoments #dontletanyonemakeyoufeellessthanyouare #melbournesleepconsultant #parenting #keepgoingmumma #supportoneanother #askforhelp

15.01.2022 It’s R U OK day today. Such an important message to share about mental health. A conversation could change a life. Ask the question not just today but everyday and be there to listen. . As a family support worker I have had many conversations regarding mental health, yes I specialise in sleep but child and infant sleep can play a huge part in a parents mental health, coping abilities, relationships and daily life. ... . 13.01.2022 So excited that my Kip and co Sleep bag came today. Just in time for those cold nights. My little man will be nice and toasty in his 2.5 TOG sleeping bag. What is a TOG? It is basically a fancy acronym for a warmth rating. The higher number TOG, the warmer your little one will be. . Why are sleeping bags beneficial for sleep? Sleeping bags are a great non verbal cue teaching your child that it is time for sleep. Sleeping bags also give warmth and security as no doubt your little one will kick their covers off. I recommend using sleeping bags until you move your child into a big bed, or until they are physically trying to climb out of their cot. Usually between 2-3 years old. @kipandco

13.01.2022 Yep.. The struggle is real

12.01.2022 Around one in ten new dads struggle with depression following the birth of their child. It's something that isn't spoken about often enough, but please know tha...t there is support available. A good start is PANDA's Mental Health Checklist for expecting and new dads. 11.01.2022 Over the past two weeks coronavirus (COVID-19) case numbers have steadily grown, with higher rates of community transmission alongside increasing concerns that ...people are not practising physical distancing and staying home when sick. Over the last five days we have commenced our Suburban Testing Blitz to better understand how the virus is transmitting in high risk suburbs as well as across the state. The data is telling us that in certain postcodes of Melbourne, in the north and the west, we have no choice but to reintroduce restrictions to contain the spread so we can stabilise the numbers. For people living in the identified postcodes, once again there will only be four reasons to leave your home: food and supplies, medical care and caregiving, exercise, and work or education if necessary. Visitors will not be allowed to households in restricted postcodes. Gatherings will be restricted to no more than two people unless they are members of your immediate household or you are meeting for work or education. The numbers attending weddings and funerals will reduce to 5 people including the celebrant and the couple getting married at a wedding and 10 mourners for funerals. Cafes, restaurants and pubs will return to takeaway only and businesses including gyms and personal care services will close. These Stage 3 restrictions will come into effect from 11:59pm Wednesday 1 July and will be in place for four weeks. Our national COVID-19 strategy remains a suppression strategy. We are not seeking to eliminate the virus but based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer these postcodes have been selected due to the high rates of recent community transmission, the risk of undetected coronavirus circulating in the community and the risk of outbreaks occurring that threaten Victorias suppression strategy. If we all work together and do the right thing, we can get on top of this.

10.01.2022 A beautiful story

09.01.2022 This absolutely breaks my heart to read this. This is why safe sleeping is so so important. This poor mum was advised to sleep her young baby on her tummy and was left to cry for an hour, unassisted. There are many people out there to claim to be sleep consultants, sleep experts, sleep coaches and many other terms that we can go by. The scary thing is many have little or no training at all. . I ALWAYS and I continue to say to my clients and families that I work with is, res...pond and be there for your children. I dont do Cry it out and never will offer that with Bedtime solutions. There are so many other factors resulting in why your little one may be fighting sleep. Routines, awake times, nutrition, environmental factors, habits and more so often a lot of wake ups are completely normal for certain ages. . My heart breaks for this family. #qualifiedfamilysupportworker #safesleep #pleasefollowsafesleep #gentlesleep See more

08.01.2022 Another beautiful way to share whats happening with your children

07.01.2022 I loved swaddling my babies. Nice firm wrap for babies especially newborns (ensure its not too tight from the hips down, so babies legs are able to seperate at the knees like a frog) So many benefits of swaddling and safe when done correctly. I have posted some tips previously on swaddling, how to swaddle, the benefits and reasons why it is so effective. Repost @fowllanguagecomics

04.01.2022 This superstar family came to me looking to gain more confidence and advice around their little mans sleep. We looked at the sleep environment, awake times, appropriate settling methods and a routine that was age appropriate. A very gentle and responsive method, resulting in happy baby and happy family. Couldn’t be more proud.
