25.01.2022 Hope you've all been having a wonderful Easter and enjoying your family, even if from a distance.

25.01.2022 I love ranunculus just on their own, loose and airy in a vase. They have such a short season, but so worth growing! These will only be available for a few more weeks, so if you fancy a bunch, message soon!

24.01.2022 Gorgeous Spring bouquet created for a lucky recipient today. Brightened my kitchen so much before it was collected that I had to go and make one for myself!

24.01.2022 Got carrot envy? My latest blog post will have you growing perfect carrots! https://bee-friendlybotanicals.com.au/f/the-secret-to-amazi

24.01.2022 Some bunches are harder to make than others... VALE Deb Gooding 31/07/1972 -20/05/2020 You were the sunniest of blooms in our WAWMR bunch. Rides definitely won't be the same without you. Condolences to Deb's family, friends and fellow WAWMR riders.

24.01.2022 Is the warmer weather inspiring you to gather family and friends around for evening meals outdoors? We love this time of year for this very reason. And I love the chance to stroll through the garden and forage for flowers to decorate the grazing table. Thank you, Charlotte, for the inspiration!

23.01.2022 Due to some cancellations we have 3 spots open for the Gifts from the Garden workshop. Please direct message me if you'd like to come, but be quick!

23.01.2022 Here's something I've learned... Getting seeds to transplant stage can be tricky, especially since seed punnets dry up fast this time of year. I've had more success since I've started watering from the base. The seedlings wick up the water they need and don't dry up anywhere near as fast. Keeping the surface a little drier helps prevent the pythium problems we tend to have with our soils too. I place the punnets in a shallow tray and fill with about 1cm of water every few days. If the seedlings are slow growing, I add a tiny bit of seasol once the second set of true leaves start showing. Got a vegie/flower question? Just ask!

23.01.2022 Growing ranunculus in your garden? Here's a pro tip for enjoying them indoors: Some types of flowers don't open any further from picking, but ranunculus do! Those at the soft, marshmallowy ball stage (bottom right bloom in pic) will open over a period of about a week, extending the vase life of your arrangement so harvest some of your blooms at this early stage. And as for ALL arrangements, don't forget to change the water every 1-2 days. Nothing kills flowers quicker than bacteria in their water.

10.01.2022 One of things I'm loving about focusing on my local community is the new connections and friendships with like-minded people. Today, I spent time exchanging farming ideas and inspiration with local apiarist, Jess Cebela of https://m.facebook.com/happyhoneyperth/ in Chidlow. (Please check out her page if you'd like some delicious local honey). Thanks so much for the lovely afternoon, Jess. I've come back to our little farm brimming with ideas (and seeds!) It's going to be a busy week!

09.01.2022 Winter weather is beginning and marks a period of rest for our little farm while we prepare Spring beds and sow the next season's blooms. We'll continue to provide botanicals to our regular subscription clients but will not be open for other orders during this time. In the interim, our blog posts will continue, with occasional freebies for all you keen gardeners! And our vegie boxes will be coming along in a month or so to help out those in need. ... Don't worry, we'll be bursting with blooms again when the warmer weather returns! This is how living seasonally really helps us appreciate the good things each season has to offer. Warm regards, Nathalie

04.01.2022 In case anyone is under the illusion that flower farming is all about skipping through the flower fields, baskets in hand to the theme song of 'The Sound of Music'... Just thought I'd share that I've spent my morning organically squishing aphids on all the rose bushes so they aren't decimated before the ladybird cavalry arrive. Delightful huh?!

01.01.2022 Last of the summer blooms.

01.01.2022 New bug in the field today! First time I've seen a heliotrope moth.
