25.01.2022 Hello from Amanda- I am now selling the bread bags at Greenies Wholefoods, Rapid Creek shops and markets. I am always combining new colours and patterns so go along and have a look. Jo is still selling them at his bread stall at Nightcliff Markets on a Sunday- that's Sweet Brew bread- best in town!!... I am talking to the artist, Peta Smith, about some fabrics using her beautiful designs from nature for next year so stay tuned and see them here first. I bought some Tamanu oil from Tracey at Northern Tamanu Oils today at Nightcliff Markets. It's from the Beauty Leaf nut- that beautiful tree that lines the road between the Botanic Gardens and Gardens Oval. It stopped my shins itching in this cool weather. 'Anyway- that's all I've got to say Amanda

16.01.2022 Bee Happy Wraps and Bags 100% Darwin bees wax on 100% Cotton Replaces the use of plastic wraps and bags in your kitchen Bees wax is naturally anti-microbial ... https://www.sciencedirect.com//artic/pii/S1995764516301407 Reference Accessed 21/11/18 Wash under tap water Use a mild detergent if desired Air dry I have found that bread can be stored in waxed bag in freezer for up to 2 weeks and my bread has still been as fresh as the day I bought it Fold the wrap like a parcel and keep your sandwich in the fridge- it will keep its shape Twist the top of the bread bag and it will keep its shape in the freezer Any discolouration is due to natural bee product in the wax. The wax has been cleaned and filtered multiple times Please do not immerse in hot water or put in an oven, microwave or washing machine- you will lose the wax Wraps and bags should last a few years before needing to be re-waxed I can re-wax for a reasonable price

15.01.2022 Welcome to Bee Happy Waxed Bread Bags. I make the 100% cotton bags and wax them with !00% local bees wax with added jojoba oil and coconut oil. I don't use tree resin because I have heard it's toxic. I will research this more and investigate a local tree resin and post the results of this research at a later date.... Alley Cats cafe and bakery sells them at Nightcliff Markets on Sunday's. Otherwise contact me through this page and arrange a way for me to get them to you!

13.01.2022 The name Bee Happycame from the Marx Brothers movie staring Marilyn Monroe, Love Happy. It’s an old romance, like Ian’s and mine! So, Bee Happy that you are reducing plastic waste one bread bag at a time! And watch the movie, it’s light and entertaining. Cheers from Amanda

04.01.2022 Why on earth would you buy a waxed bread bag??? Well, here's some Maths- a plastic bread bag costs your baker about 5 cents, if you buy a loaf a day, that's 35 cents a week. Multiply that by the life of a waxed bread bag (at least 2 years btw)- that's $17.50 a year times 2years is a saving of $35.... Now if you convert that to a rewards system in favour of you- that would mean your baker could reward you with at least 8 loaves of bread a year! at no extra cost to them. That makes cents to me!
