25.01.2022 Remarkably this bee swarm arrived during extremely hot weather. Maybe they absconded from a nest site that got too hot for them in this heatwave. If bees choose a home in a black compost bin ,for example, they may move in in temperate weather but as soon as the strong sun heats up the bin, the nest may become too hot for the bees. Many a time, the wax comb melts and collapses. Hence a reason for the bees to find another home.

02.01.2022 Look at this. A perfectly made frame of brood arising from eggs laid by the queen, nursed and fed by young workers and finally capped with a roof of wax to allow the pupa to emerge as a fully metamorphed adult worker bee.
