25.01.2022 We're still tracking for Cyril Green's new project, using a one-at-a-time approach to keep everyone safe. Here's Cyril's son Tony on bass and strat, grandson Anthony on acoustic, and great-grandson Antwone doing a guest appearance for a drum track! We've also had Brisbane-based Mark Moulynox add some classic pedal steel licks to several of the tunes. Great work everyone. It's coming together nicely!

23.01.2022 Lots of projects happening in the studio at the moment. One of them is with Francesca Andreoni, who is recording an original song themed around the Backtracks program. Luke Cornish helped out with guitars and Richie Lockwood downed tools to come in and lay some drum tracks. Two very special guests were the dogs. Their job was to bark on the double stop near the end of the song!

23.01.2022 Good news for people in the Walcha district...Cyril Green's new CD "Inheritance" is available from the Walcha Newsagency (Fitzroy Street). Grab your copy before they run out!

21.01.2022 This week we welcome back Briny Sea. With COVID restrictions easing a little they are back working on their music and gigging again. We're putting the finishing touches to their EP, which should be ready for a bright and shiny new year! Pleasure to work with you, chaps!

20.01.2022 Important Message We are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our clients and staff. Consequently, Beechwood Studio will not be starting any new recording projects until the crisis with the Coronavirus pandemic has passed. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes. We will continue to edit and mix existing projects, and we can continue to receive work on-line. For existing projects, personal visits to the studio will be strictly limited in accordance with government regulations. Please contact us if you wish to discuss your project. Please everyone - look after yourself and stay well. We will be delighted to work with you again when this crisis is over!

20.01.2022 Release of CD 'Inheritance' Cyril Green's new album 'Inheritance' has hit the streets and is getting radio airplay and great reviews. Four generations of Green - Cyril, Tony, Anthony and Antwone - are backed up by the talents of Mark Moulynox, Dan Bale, Warwick Dunham, Laura Curotta, Dave Brown, Rachael Bale and Robert Jackson. 20.01.2022 Studio veteran Pete Stanley is back at Beechwood with a new project titled Songs for the Ages. In recent days we've been tracking backing vocals featuring Michael Abbott, Jack Abbott and Mary Vanderbles Stanley. It's coming together nicely!

19.01.2022 Country gospel duo Richard and Shirley Pearce dropped in recently to record a little project. Guitar legend Cyril Green was on hand to add his magic touch. It was a day of reminiscing...Cyril helped Richard and Shirley record their first album at Hadley Studios (Tamworth) 43 years ago. And, remembering Cyril's penchant for banana cake, Shirley had some fresh from the oven! It was lovely to have Hazel Green back after a long period of illness to cheer Cyril on.

19.01.2022 Briny Sea Local soft rock outfit Briny Sea is currently tracking at Beechwood. Frontman singer-songwriter Matt Knights has penned some new material ranging from sensitive reflections to old school rock ballads. The band's line up includes Matt on lead vocals and acoustic guitars; Mike Croft on bass, keys and backing vocals; Mark Fisher on lead guitar, and Matt Benham on drums. (Is 'M' a requirement??) It's sounding good!

15.01.2022 Edge of Sky What an awesome show last night at The Hoskins. A grand slice of epic prog-rock: Sky, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd etc... all played with the intensity, virtuosity (and volume) it demands. Edge of Sky brings together local legends Warwick Dunham (keys), Steve Taffra (guitars), Sarah Thorneycroft (bass), Steve Thorneycroft (guitars) and Dave van Tongeren (drums) plus the powerful vocals of Katie Hazelwood. Great work from Martin Hansford (sound) and Ian Mackay (lighting/visuals). It should be another epic show tonight!

14.01.2022 Peter Crick called by the studio this week to catch up on recent projects and listen to a track or two. Peter is the manager at Community Radio. Here he is in the control room with local guitar legend Cyril Green. Thanks for calling by!

14.01.2022 Francesca Andreoni has been in recently recording some bumpers and background music for a podcast. The project involves interviews with some unsung Aussie heroes. Fittingly, the music is acoustic country, featuring guitars, bass, and Francesca's sweet little 6-string ukelele. The tracking and some edits were done here and now it's gone to Daniel Denholm at Point Blank Sound for mixing and production. Great work Francesca!

12.01.2022 Release of 'From Hidden Valleys' The Soundtrack for this new film was recorded here at Beechwood. We wish Jonathan every success with this project! 'From Hidden Valleys’ is a short nature film with soundtrack by Australian composer, Jonathan Billingham. The premiere also features music by Tchaikovsky, Liszt & Rachmaninov for Violin, Cello, Clarinet & Piano. Featured musicians include Bora Kim - Violin, Samuel Dharma - Piano, George Yang - Cello, Carol Irving - Clarinet. For release details go to: https://www.tallowdale.com.au//film-premiere-gala-concert-

10.01.2022 The Beechwood people have had some time out doing a Kimberley roadtrip. It was great to see live music happening at many places across the outback. Saw a brilliant concert in Winton featuring Brisbane guitarist Michael Fix, roots-rock player Minnie Marks and stunning Italian guitarist Luca Stricagnoli. A feature of the show was Luca playing a custom triple neck guitar. What a great gig. We're back in the studio on Monday with some great projects happening in the next few months.

10.01.2022 Rachael Bale at work on the big piano - tracking for Cyril Green's new album...and a couple of pieces for Pete Stanley too! Nice work Rachael!

10.01.2022 This week we've had the boys from Charlie Bravo with us, tracking songs for their new EP. The band comprises frontman Jacob (strat, vocals), Brock (drums) and Sam (bass). Charlie Bravo won a talent comp in Inverell a few months ago, including a prize of recording time in the studio. Well done! We had a great time working on their music. Big thanks to Tim Godwin for helping with the kit set-up, doing the photography, and general good-time encouragement! (Pics courtesy Tim)

10.01.2022 This week we've had local author Margarita Perez Garcia on the microphone. Margarita writes easy-to-read books especially for people who struggle with reading or who are learning a language. Our project was to produce an audio-book (in Spanish!) based on one of her current titles. How good is that!

09.01.2022 We're currently working with The Quick and the Dead - a 6 piece country rock and bluegrass outfit based in Armidale. The project is their debut album 'Dirt Roads', featuring originals driven by strong acoustic rhythms and vocals ranging from authoritative to whimsical. You can catch them live at their pre-release gig at the Imperial (Armidale) on the 29th Feb. Meanwhile, we're having a hoot putting the finishing touches to the tracks. Thanks James (Manager) for all the help!

08.01.2022 We recently worked on a very personal project. String teacher Laura Curotta played her grandfather's 100-year old violin. The selection featured the music of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with composers such as Elgar, Wieniawski and Gershwin. How appropriate for this old instrument! Sheila Guymer (piano) and Robert Jackson (cello) added some trio magic. All three artists teach at the New England Conservatorium of Music.

08.01.2022 The impacts of the COVID crisis are still upon us. However, despite the limitations, we're still operating and getting projects underway. We recently had Sydney musician Dan Bale in the studio to put down drum tracks for a new instrumental project we're working on. Thanks Dan - great work.

06.01.2022 Anthony Green at work on the strat at Beechwood - recording a lead break for Pete Stanley's new album

06.01.2022 Work Experience This week we've had Frankie Pancaldi helping out in the studio. He's been setting up microphones, helping with recording drums and amps, and also laying a few guitar tracks for a couple of projects we're working on. Frankie was here as part of Armidale Secondary College's Work Experience program. Good work Frankie!

04.01.2022 Local maestro Dave Brown spent an afternoon with us this week - tracking the brass sections for Cyril Green's new project. The parts were scored by Sydney muso Dan Bale, who used to play under Dave's baton in the Armidale town band. Here's Dave in full flight on the 'bone. Thanks Dave - it's sounding so good.

03.01.2022 The Beechwood Studio team would like to wish all our clients and friends a happy Christmas filled with goodwill and joy. We will be taking a break until January 19th. Stay safe everyone, and we hope to catch up with you all in a brighter 2021! If you're still looking for that last Chrissie present, remember we've got some great CDs/downloads available - including Cyril Green's acclaimed 'Inheritance' album. More details: https://www.beechwoodstudio.com.au/artists/

02.01.2022 Pete Stanley's new album - For The Ages - has hit the streets with good reviews. We think it's his best work yet. Thanks to all the session musos who added their magic! Well done Pete!
