09.01.2022 There is a lot of controversy about silicones in skin care. These are ingredients like Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone or the siloxanes that go into creams and hair... conditioners to make them slippery. We dont think they are dangerous, but just not particularly good, and this is why. Firstly they are not biodegradable so not good for the environment. Secondly, although they do initially help skin and hair feel slippery(good), for us they just seem to leave the skin feeling dryer after a couple of weeks. That is why we use Jojoba Oil instead of silicone in our hair care, and formulate all of our skin care without silicone, including our Cover Cream for Acne prone skin and sun creams. Formulating without silicone is very difficult, but worth it we think. Has anyone else noticed the effect of silicones in skin care? See more
