02.01.2022 Managing a #business during a #recession 2. Reducing costs This is a parallel step to the revenue-boosting activity discussed in my last post (link in the first comment). As a #leader of a small organisation, I had to work with managers to list all the company costs, assess them one-by-one, cut down all unnecessary costs, and reduce other costs whenever possible.... A major activity to eliminate unnecessary costs was the cancellation the lease of extra office space, and having the whole team in one office (was not an easy task with the landlord) There are heaps of examples for the cost reduction: 1. Finding cheaper #serviceproviders (without compromising the quality) 2. Negotiating the lease contract of the company warehouse 3. Requesting all employees to consume a percentage of their annual leaves balance Most importantly, we had to develop sufficient #governance to ensure when, where and how #cash was spent.
