24.01.2022 Its going to be a busy day
24.01.2022 The latest reveal. Lead light will get repaired and doors re hung.
24.01.2022 Some closer details in the upstairs galley around the arch windows. The balustrade is back home and painted, just needs to go back around the reinstated void.
23.01.2022 This weeks discovery. Lots of people at open house mentioned the pineapple drink. Must have been good.
23.01.2022 Was our pleasure Margaret. We are very proud of the transformation.
22.01.2022 Bendigo residents will soon have access to a brand new hospitality hub, as part of a revitalisation of the CBD. #9News | http://9News.com.au
22.01.2022 Yep thats right, we are proud to be part of the Bendigo open house and while we wont be able to open up the whole building we hope to be able to enable people to get a good feel for what it will be like when finished.
22.01.2022 Its a big space so our craftsmen can still work safely, albeit a bit slower than planned.

21.01.2022 Stripping of the wall paper in the rear function room revealed another layer above the painted timber dado
21.01.2022 First day on the job, Brett and the crew from DBG gave the central floor a good clean. First of many treasures.
20.01.2022 The void is back. Looks stunning
20.01.2022 Todays find at the mining exchange. These decorative brackets once ran around the entire underside of the void. This is the only one left which was partially encased in a solid wall. Will take it off to get a mould to make about 40 and re instate. Well done to DBG on getting it out in one piece.

19.01.2022 Slowly but surely were getting there. The only decorative bracket left back where we found it. Circular void in rear function room back in place.
16.01.2022 Floorboards re-laid in the upstairs gallery to highlight where one of the original circular voids was. We can not reinstate the original void as it would not be compliant for access. You can see where the central void will be, currently covered over to enable further works
15.01.2022 Ready for open house Bendigo this Sunday 28th October
15.01.2022 We are pleased to announce DBG as the builders for the first phase of the redevelopment. Physical works to begin soon ( finally )
12.01.2022 Light install in rear function room. Sean Earl from Williams Boag architects, brilliant.
11.01.2022 We found these cast rosettes running along the fascia the length of the void. They are currently hidden by the lead light from the 1930s. We are going to use the existing lead light to make good and repair the broken portions and end up with the late 1800s portion revealed around the void and the lead light restored for the remaining portions.
11.01.2022 What a difference a few days make. Painters and plasterers in full swing.
10.01.2022 How about this ripper from our photographer Glenn Daniels Work on the Beehive building is underway. Full gallery: https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//beehive-building-w/
09.01.2022 More updates from the clean up. Some of the old shop fronts are gone to reveal the original cast iron columns and the ornate rosettes. The underside of the floor you can see in image 1 will be where the void is re-instated. Great work Brett / Matty and the DBG crew.
07.01.2022 Repair work on the front stairs. In keeping with requirements of a heritage listed building we do not try and hide new items but rather highlight them in a sympathetic manner. Some beautiful work by the boys at DBG.

03.01.2022 Its an absolute credit to Brett and the team, such a complex and uncertain project made that little bit easier. Looking forward to a good old fashioned cut out to all our trades when we can
03.01.2022 Inching ever closer.
03.01.2022 From the pillars in the 1 st floor gallery. Note the original scribe marks. We have also uncovered some older painted shop signs. The pillars will be stripped back to the original render, complete with cracks ( we call that Petina), signs to be retained and all finished with a clear coat.
03.01.2022 Were getting there.
02.01.2022 Fantastic news yesterday that our Building permit has been granted Work will commence promptly
