25.01.2022 Hello Beehive families, We are very excited to welcome the children back this week for term 1! Our wonderful teacher Kelly is continuing with us this year, and we have Estelle joining us as our new aide. We still have spaces available for this term in both classes (Tuesday and Thursday 9am-12pm). Please email [email protected] for more information or to submit an enrolment form (available on our website).... You may notice the temporary fence around our playground has moved and some work has been happening in the outdoor area. This is to prepare for a new fence which will go up in March. We thank families for their patience while this work is happening. We are looking forward to having an improved outdoor space to enjoy when the fence is completed.

21.01.2022 We are so excited to welcome back our Beehive children for Term 3! Sessions commence next week, Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd July, 9am-12pm. Spaces are still available for new enrolments on both days. Please email [email protected] for information. We have missed you all terribly, but we’ve been busy bees while closed. We recently held our AGM and have elected a new management committee with 8 members. We are very excited to have so many energetic volunteers assis...ting with the behind the scenes running of Beehive. The executive members have been re-elected to their roles, with Alice Parker as President, Jenea Airey as Treasurer and Rachel Larner as Secretary. Parents will notice a few changes when dropping their children off. There will be shelves on the verandah to place bags and the sign in sheet will also be on the verandah. We will be encouraging parents to settle their children in and say goodbye outside and avoid entering the classroom where possible. As well as facilitating physical distancing, this fits with our increased focus on outdoor and nature-based play and we intend to start each session with an outdoor activity, weather permitting. Our playground is getting near to completion, with significant groundworks done by the Margate Christian Church (MCC) to increase the space. Posts are in for the new fence and we are hopeful that it will be completed for the start of term. MCC have put a huge amount of work and planning into improving the outdoor space and we are looking forward to seeing their plans come to fruition. The Beehive management committee have agreed to fund the purchase of turf for the space to get it in usable condition more quickly. We have also been working on cleaning out and organising our learning and play resources and are looking at purchasing some new resources to broaden the activities available to the children, in particular with a nature focus. Another project underway is establishing a small library for the children to borrow a book from each week. Donations of books in good condition and suitable for 3-5 year olds are gratefully accepted.

16.01.2022 The Beehive Committee will be meeting tomorrow at Beehive, 12.15-12.45pm. All parents/grandparent/carers are welcome to attend (fine for children to stay with you). Beehive is a non-profit community association run by volunteers, along with or wonderful paid Teacher and Aide. Input from our community is essential to keep Beehive running. Hope to see you there!
