13.01.2022 Our Kindergarten children have been exploring gardens and this week we have planned, researched, and investigated building a Veggie Garden at kindy. We would like to thank Mitre 10 Murgon for their kind gifting of a raised garden bed for the children to use. The children will be busy putting it together this afternoon ready for us to plant our zucchinis, pumpkins, sunflowers and beans.

07.01.2022 Several weeks ago our educators participated in a Loose Parts professional development opportunity presented by Outsiders: Play Advocates and Bushkids. Keen to put what we learnt into practice, we have been busy sourcing Loose Part items and introducing them to our learning environments. Today one of our Kindy teacher's Miss Laura, observed two of the children planning, hypothesising and then constructing their two towers using crates and pipes.... #looseparts #outsidersplayadvocadea #bushkids #sustainability

03.01.2022 NEW KINDERGARTEN TEACHER * NEW PROGRAM Is your child 4 before the 30th June 2021? If so, your child is eligible for our Queensland Kindergarten Approved Program. Next year we will see a slightly different Kindergarten Program from previous years, with our Kindy sessions operating from 8:30am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday, (minimum of 3 mornings per week is require to be part of our program), with long day hours available at extra cost.... Kindy Learning Program Session Price: $49.00 per session You may also be eligible for the Qld Kindergarten Plus Subsidy if you happen to have a Health Care or Pension Card, or if you or your child is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander for FREE or low cost Kindy Fees. To find out if you meet the criteria please contact us to discuss. An example of how the Subsidy works if you are eligible: If your child is entitled to 100 CCS Hours, and receive 85% CCS, and your child attends 5 Kindy morning sessions, during the school term the fees per week would $10.00. 03.01.2022 SOUTH Burnett residents have started a petition to bring a dedicated Specialist Cancer Nurse to the region. Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has thrown her s...upport behind the initiative after she had been approached by disappointed residents. There are a large number of cancer patients in the South Burnett, with the number of people dying from cancer in Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai 15 per cent above the national average and 9 per cent above the average for Kingaroy," Ms Frecklington said. In February this year I wrote to the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service Board calling for the reinstatement of this specialist role." However, they said to her the role will now be general and not specific to a particular disease.
