25.01.2022 We are excited to be partnering with Dr Stephanie Azri to deliver the 'Mindset 4 Kids' program in term four of this year. This ten-week resilience program is being offered to children in grade six to develop resilience and readiness for high school next year. Fees can be fully bulk billed with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP.... Sessions will be held at Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre, with COVID safe protocols in-place. 25.01.2022 Today we begin hosting the Beenleigh District Not-for-Profit Virtual Conference. The conference will run for two consecutive days and involve 19 organisations meeting via videoconference to network, exchange information and gain insights into the services offered by each organisation. The conference will be recorded, with videos publically accessible in the coming months.
24.01.2022 You may have heard that some community facilities are permitted to open their doors to the public from 16 May 2020. Please note that Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre WILL NOT BE OPEN to the public till further notice as many steps need to be undertaken in order for the centre to be a safe environment for staff, volunteers and the community. We will provide an update on this page and our website when further information is available. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
21.01.2022 Today we are busy hosting day two of The Beenleigh District Not-for-Profit Virtual Conference. Over the past two days we have had the pleasure to introduce and hear from a diverse range of organisations. Events such as this one help workers in the not-for-profit sector to break down silos and exchange information, enabling us to work more effectively alongside our communities.
21.01.2022 The JPs in the Community program has resumed at Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre. A JP or Cdec will be available to witness and/or certify your documents Tuesday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Appointments are not required, however you may be required to wait depending on the workload at the time. All persons entering the centre will be required to sign-in and sanitise their hands on entry (hand sanitiser will be supplied). Social distancing will be enforced, with all... persons required to remain at least 1.5 metres apart at all times whilst on the premises. When arriving at the centre please read the signs on the entry door before pressing the doorbell. For those of you who may not know, Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre is located at 10-12 James Street, Beenleigh.
20.01.2022 Beenleigh District Not-for-Profit Virtual Conference We will be hosting the 'Beenleigh District Not-for-Profit Virtual Conference' from 26-27 August 2020. The purpose of the conference is to facilitate information sharing between not-for-profit organisations providing services to persons within the Beenleigh district. This also includes organisations based outside of the Beenleigh district who provide outreach services within the area, as well as government bodies.... 14.01.2022 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is commemorated each year on 15 June to highlight one of the worst manifestations of ageism and inequality in our society, elder abuse. Elder abuse is any act which causes harm to an older person and is carried out by someone they know and trust such as a family member or friend. The abuse may be physical, social, financial, psychological or sexual and can include mistreatment and neglect.

Queenslanders will be able to undertake unlimited travel, ...including overnight stays throughout the entire state, in a major easing of COVID-19 restrictions. More locals will be allowed in cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs, with an increase in the number of patrons from 10 to 20. The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance is hosting a Guinness World Records attempt to document light pollution the fastest growing pollutant in the world.... The Official Attempt aims to have more than 2,000 people go outside and look at the stars and take the LARGEST ONLINE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY LESSON IN 24 HOURS. Anyone around the world can sign up and be a part of this citizen science event. The event opens at 1pm AEST this Sunday 21 June and closes 1pm 22 June.
