24.01.2022 This time last week! We threw a bit of a curve ball to the crowd that came along to Beers and Ideas at the @warrnamboollanewaybar last Friday they had to submit the ideas, on the night, with 15 minutes to think of them. It was an experimental (and perhaps slightly mental) idea, but it was so much fun! We had so many super sweet idea submissions (a free drink in exchange may have sweetened the deal!) from which we chose 4 finalists to quickly present their idea to the crowd.... Jarrod wanted to put googly eyes on things around town to make cute little #facesinplaces. Chrissie wanted to spend the funding on blackberries and dress up as a giant blackberry and give them away 'because they're so delicious but so expensive'. Holly and Molly wanted to paint a twister game on a footpath on the foreshore and Claire and Jemila wanted to create a Dog Tinder notice board at the new dog park, where owners could connect for doggie dates and other important dog matters. Dog Tinder won the vote and Claire and Jemila (pictures here with Aggy the mini foxie) will receive $1000 in funding to bring their idea to life. The casual, inclusive nature of the evening was an absolute winner, helped by the fun setting of the laneway bar thank you so much to @paddyobr for hosting us and speaking so beautifully about his passion for community. Thank you also to the beers and ideas team for organising, to @warrnamboolcity council for matching $500 in funding for the winning idea, and to everyone who came along and got involved. Much love and we'll see you in a little while for Round 10! See more

10.01.2022 Every year, on the third Friday in September, car parks around the world are transformed and reimagined PARK(ing) Day was born out of San Francisco in 2005 and has swept across the glove every year since. Parklet’s are now quite common around the place, often as shady, green spots to eat lunch amongst our urban surrounds You might walk past one and not even realise that it used to be a car park! PARK(ing) Day encourages people to see parking spaces from a different angle ...and is a unique opportunity to do something creative to liven up our City’s streets. We’ve posted some cool examples from around the world, including mini golf, a luscious mini jungle to eat lunch and have a chat, a parking space transformed into a croquet field and the last photo is the very first PARK(ing) Day activation in San Francisco all those years ago in 2005. It’s come a long way since then and is super a super interesting concept to reframe how we interact with public spaces! ... Whadd’ya think? See more
