25.01.2022 21B2 have been writing 'Warm fuzzies' to each other. We have been learning that 'Our words have impact', 'We are all bucket -fillers' and by speaking kindly to others, it helps us 'Feel safe.' We brainstormed a list of 'warm fuzzies' and have been having fun writing anonymous notes to each other. It is giving me warm fuzzies, reading what they have been writing to each other.

23.01.2022 Today the School Captains laid a wreath at the Remembrance Day Service held by the Beerwah and District RSL Sub Branch. The School Vice-captains were on duty at the flagpoles for the Last Post. Back at school, the Student Council Chairperson and Secretary lead a classroom commemoration.

They were commended for their participation in the Talk About It program by the visiting Life Ed Faciliator - beautiful kids! We knew that, and we are glad other people see it too. 17.01.2022 Last week at the Kandoo Joeys Playgroup we ventured to Beerwah State Schools very own Outdoor Classroom where we went for a Teddy Bears Picnic. While we were there we read a story and played a game called the bush telegraph. We collected some natural paint brushes in the form of sticks, leaves and pine cones to use to paint with when we returned to our room. One of our curious scientists explored mixing different colours together to discover some new colours. Come and join in the fun at Kandoo Joeys every Tuesday from 9-11am.

15.01.2022 A great day yesterday for many of our year sixes at Beerwah State High School for the Coalition Education Enrichment Program (CEEP). As a member of the Glasshouse Coalition of State Schools, Beerwah SS is very grateful for this wonderful opportunity for our students. It looks like our students have been learning all about PPE in Science and Food Technology!

15.01.2022 Jersey Day was a big success. Thank you P&C Association for a yummy meal deal from the Kandoo canteen AND donating the free dress proceeds to the Student Council. P&C volunteers are amazing! Thank you to all our local clubs and groups that provide such a diversity of activities for our kandoo kids. Glasshouse District Little Athletics Tibros Netball Club Hinterland Boxing Club Beerwah Glasshouse United Football Club Beerwah Bulldogs RLFC Caloundra Oztag Association There was also Fun Friday activities to fit into the day. 13.01.2022 Its a bird, Its a plane! No last week it was School Support Staff Week which passed us by amongst Art Gallery set ups and a packed filming schedule. Helping teachers and students make it all happen were the amazing office team Mrs Steer, Mrs C and Mrs Batson; along with schools officer Mr Rob and Mrs Eugarde as film director/ICT technician. They all have amazing super powers ( like reading the Principals mind and keeping our school humming) so they must have a secret headquarters somewhere. What do you think?

13.01.2022 The first day of Spring was our inspiration to play with some colour at Kandoo Joeys Playgroup this week. We enjoyed the story "The Day the Crayons Quit" and shared our best expressions of our own emotions. Our artists then created a piece of collaborative art showcasing the emotions of some of the crayons. We added some magic with some fascinating drawings and paintings by using wax crayons then painting over their drawings with special water paint. The children also made a Harmony Hands tree and a Fathers Day presents to take home. Come and join in the fun at Kandoo Joeys Playgroup every Tuesday morning from 9-11am at Beerwah State School.

12.01.2022 Prep celebrated the start of National Science Week with some weather experiments. We conducted an experiment that explained how clouds form and how clouds make rain.

11.01.2022 This term in year 3 we have been reading a narrative called Kumiko and the Dragon, written by Briony Stewart. It is about a girl who overcomes her fear of dragons and ends up not being afraid of the dragon who sleeps outside her window and protects her. The children have enjoyed using their imagination to create their own dragons incorporating art into the English curriculum.

10.01.2022 Great to have a special presentation parade this week. Congratulations to our 2020 Age Champions and runners up. What great competition with tied Age Champions in the 11 and 12 year boys categories. Well done to our Light and Sound Crew who also received their badges. Nominations will open in a few weeks for Year 5 Light and Sound trainees for Term 4.

It’s Creativity Month this March so the children got busy creating artworks using ball painting, mixing colours, baby painting and feet fish. 03.01.2022 Beerwah students were proud to receive a thank you message from Rural Aid for the Christmas Cards they made for the Aussie farmers.

03.01.2022 For the last few weeks 3G2 has been participating in the annual Premiers reading challenge. Each student has set a goal for how many books they would like to read by the challenge closing date on August the 21st. Certificates will be awarded to students who read at least 25 books. As teachers we know that reading plays an important part in students lives during their school years and beyond. It allows children to actively engage their imagination and opens up a world of educational opportunities. Although the challenge will be coming to an end at the end of next month, our reading will continue all year!
