13.01.2022 Lets face it there are more days and weeks of celebrating differnt things than there are days on the claendar. And Australian Pollinator Week is another event t...hat takes place as a spotlight on what we can engage with every other day and or week of the year. So while pollinator week took place a couple of weeks ago, there are still events going on that help inform and continue to raise awareness about our pollinators and their role in our lives, as share house partners of the landscapes where our homes, workplaces and lives carry on. Theres so many ways we can connect with our pollinators from native bees, native wasps, hover flies, honey bees, microbats, butterflies, moths and the list goes on. So I am super happy to be able to share some time with a very active advocate for pollinators in Australia Fiona Chambers from Wheen Bee Foundation. As part of the ongoing work of Rotary for Bees Fiona and I will be presenting as part of Your Garden - Our Future a free online talk this Thursday. Its a chance for us to look and share lots of information for everyone from children and families to individuals through all generations explaining not just the importance of our pollinators but ways that you/we all can help their ongoing survival, regeneration and sustainable growth in all our ecosystems. 07.01.2022 Yes, I know Australian Pollinator Week has come to a close for 2020, BUT.... this recording of yesterday's "Pollinator Panel" with Costa has some great basic info that can help get you attracting those insect pollinators into your garden / space. Costa chats with Dan Smailes, Tim Heard, Kit Predergast, Fiona Chambers and Megan Halcroft about "#OzPollinatorWeek. there are some great links to various resources throughout the interviews

02.01.2022 Today is the last day of the 2020 Australian Pollinator Week and the last chance for you to do a Wild Pollinator Count. This is a very important citizen science project, which is independent and the only national database recording insect pollinators’ abundance and distribution. So please take part. wildpollinatorcount.com And to send you on your merry way, this song may inspire you to look more closely at our Wild Pollinators ... https://youtu.be/aGPN0JtkqtY
