20.01.2022 Bees play a necessary role in the pollination of many fruits and vegetables. We are proud to be part of the production of some truly delicious berries at the Hillwood Berry Farm.

17.01.2022 Our bees, hard at work in the sunshine at Hillwood Berries Farmgate. Make sure you visit them, to taste the berries and beautiful produce these wonderful creatures contribute to.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Terence and Mark. We were over the moon to be able to help out with the 'wedding bonbonneire'. Doesn't it look great!?!?!?

11.01.2022 Went and checked on the girls today. Blackberry tunnels are starting to flower at Tasmanian Berries. The weather has meant a bit of a slow start for the bees, but they're picking up nicely now. Great to see them out helping produce some yummy berries and delicious honey.

09.01.2022 So disappointing. Be assured that our honey is pure Tasmanian honey - nothing added!!

06.01.2022 We're back!!!! Honey is now on the shelves. Price is $15/kg and available in 1kg, 1.5kg, 3kg and 5kg containers. Berry, leatherwood and gum varieties. If you'd like a particular size and variety, if you message in advance we'll do our best to ensure there is some on the shelf with your name on it!!

04.01.2022 UPDATE WE NOW HAVE A PARLIAMENTARY PETITION. Please tag your Tasmanian friends. http://www.parliament.tas.gov.au//H/CurrentEPetition.aspx... I have just returned from a southern beekeepers members meeting and to be honest my blood is boiling. We were all made aware tonight that, Even after such a horrific Leatherwood season. Even when our government are funding beekeepers to feed their bees sugar because of fires and drought, Even when companies have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, Even when many people have lost their jobs, Even when Leatherwood trees take a whole generation to even start to produce flowers. Even when bee stocks are low and possibly to low to be able to pollinate all of this years crops due to the poorest Leatherwood season in decades. APPARENTLY HIGH DENSITY LEATHERWOOD CLOSE TO EXISTING BEEKEEPING SITES ARE EARMARKED TO BE LOGGED!! THIS IS A TOTAL DISGRACE. I try to understand the balance logging and jobs has in this state but how can this happen given the circumstances of our industry. The Leatherwood tree is only found in Tasmania it accounts for 70% of all the honey sold in Tasmania. More importantly for our short beekeeping season it is the last productive flowering source which keeps the bees strong going into to winter therefore when mass pollination in spring is required bees are in relatively healthy numbers. THIS IS OUR CHILDREN’S BEEKEEPING FUTURE BEING WIPED OUT STAY TUNED SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS!

02.01.2022 Please share with your friends! With a touch of warmer weather, keep your eye out for any bee swarms. If you see a swarm of bees on a tree, on a fence, on pretty much anything, in the greater Tamar Valley or Launceston areas, please contact Ian on 0407947276 to collect and relocate them. **Please note: We can't help with bees in walls, roofs or chimneys etc. Because of this, it's a whole lot better to have them relocated before they decide to take up residence there!

01.01.2022 Happy Bee Day!!!
