With preseason sports ramping up a gear and many more people getting out running and into the gym, shin splints is something that is popping up more and more often.... If this is you, jump over to our website and check out our recent article on shin splints :) https://adelaide-unley.befittrainingphysio.com/shin-splints/

25.01.2022 Saturday morning hit out at @befit.training.adelaide ! . . Good to have these legends in for session @thelifeofjgregg @sam.valkonen

24.01.2022 Getting back on the park, doing what they love and away from any limitations are often the main goals of our clients. Off the back of our previous post. There is always something you can do We have identified that often clients often dont reach that point, they lose motivation and often told to not train at all. So they fall off often before they even begin. We get it. The process sucks.... This is why we have reinvented rehab to make it truly personal. We have made it engaging. We keep you training, we get you moving. We have specifically designed our functional approach for you to continue to train THROUGH your limitations. After all we understand you want to train. You want to stay fit. You want to be amongst the fun. For most movement is more then physically, its mental. It creates clarity, it gives you purpose. Our Physios have been around the Fitness space for some time, they understand all the variations within group training products. We truly believe there is always something you can do Dont worry well keep you moving. https://linktr.ee/befitunley

24.01.2022 Massive shout out to @jakedskinner for all his hard work he is putting in for his ACL rehab. . Jake has done everything we have asked of him and it is showing in his progress. . Rehab can be a lonely time, a place that can be hard to understand unless you have been through it. Time spent away from team mates, long hours in the gym by yourself and the mind games that play with you.... . This is one of the reasons why we are big fans of strength training for all types of rehab. It builds character, it gives you a focus and most importantly it gives you confidence you can return bigger and better. . Well done mate keep up the good work! See more

23.01.2022 Banded Ankle Mobility . . Shin splints and tight calves/ankles go hand in hand. .... . Shin splints, often an injury seen during a period of increased workload (think sports preseason or someone training for a marathon). For many who experience this injury they will also present with tight calves and ankles. . . This ankle mobility exercise is one of our go to exercises to improve range of motion through the ankle joint. This is a slight variation to the typical banded mobility drills you will see in common gyms, as we teach it with a foot on the box and the band distracting the ankle joint by pulling down on an angle. This allows the ankle joint to open up as you glide over the top of it, therefore increasing its ability to move into dorsiflexion. . . Give this a go and let us know how you get on! . . ps if you are struggling to squat to depth then this could also be your answer See more

23.01.2022 Some early stage shoulder rehab done by one of our football boys. . Looking to slowly load the shoulder by doing some light band work and some scapular push ups. . Charlie will slowly load his shoulder over the next few weeks with the aim to have him back for finals

23.01.2022 The Goblet Squat - - Cant back squat because of back pain? -... - This is your answer! . . One of the best regressions for a squat you can find. The goblet squat changes the position of the weight to be more anterior (in front) of the body rather than loading up the spine - - The beautiful thing about this movement is that you get nearly all of the benefits that you would normally get from a back squat but in a more controlled and pain free way - - If you are struggling with back pain when you squat, send through a DM of you squatting and we would be more than happy to have a look. - - @befit.training.adelaide @befit.physio.adl See more

22.01.2022 Shin splints are commonly associated with tight calves . . With an increased training load during preseason, it is not uncommon for players to present with symptoms such as this .... . 11.01.2022 The Suitcase - - - This variation for the conventional deadlift is one of our favourites. By using dumbells rather than a barbell you are able to accomodate for the individuals limitations. -... - - An area that many people struggle with is hip range of motion when lifting up the bar during a lift. This is seen in many clients that experience lower back pain after a lift. By using dumbells you are able to control the range of motion required and therefore increase the individuals ability to maintain a neutral lower back when lifting. - - - If you are someone that expereinces lower back pain when doing a convential deadlift, give this variation a try - - - BeFit Training Adelaide BeFit Training Physio Adelaide See more

11.01.2022 The harder we train the harder we need to recover. One way of doing so is Active Recovery. _ What is Active Recovery? Active recovery is an easier workout compared to normal. Typically this workout would be done on off day from training and when your body is feeling beat up from previous sessions. _... Generally an active recovery workout is less intense (Less the 6/7 RPE) and has less volume. If your worried about body composition goals you could do active recovery by going for a walk on your off day from training. _ If you are doing some active recovery, BeSmart. Dont sell yourself short and over train on days that you should be using active recovery/resting, doing so is a quick way to burn out and ultimately lose steam towards your goals. _ Speak to our @befit.physio.adl team If you want to learn more about recovery ideas! 07.01.2022 Decline Squats . . One of our favourite mid - late stage patella tendon (front of the knee) rehab exercises .... . Patella Tendinopathy or Jumpers Knee is when someone has pain through the front of the knee, often aggravated by jumping, running, squats or anything that applies large amounts of load through the knee . . There are 3 different stages of patella tendionpathy - acute, sub-acute and degenerative. With different stages comes different exercises . . As the decline squat heavily loads the patella tendon, it is suited to the mid - late degenerative stage . . This will build strength through the tendon and result in a strong and happy tendon . 04.01.2022 To the BeFit Physio client community, - I am writing to you to address the fast accelerating situation that is COVID-19. It is a time of great stress and uncertainty for most, with repercussions effecting us all on a personal and professional level. - At BeFit Physio we provide a vital service to people everywhere, especially to those like the elderly who are the most vulnerable at this time. We are committed to providing thorough care to all who need it, however the effects ...of this pandemic have forced us to make some tough decisions. - Our team is built around what we can do for people, how we can best care for people and how we can get the best results for people. It is for this reason that BeFit Physio Adelaide needs to put people first; our family, our friends, our team and our clients before anything else. With the latest Government updates in mind surrounding self isolation, social distancing and the increasing number of positive diagnoses in SA, our team have decided to stop all face to face treatments. - This is not a forced closure. It is a decision that has been made with the health of our community at the forefront, as we exercise our social responsibility to do whats necessary to reduce as much risk as possible. - Our direction now quickly turns to developing ways to deliver our expectional service that is experienced in clinic in other ways. As of yesterday we have invested significantly into developing an online platform, which will allow us the ability to take what we do in the clinic, into your own home remotely. Our team is 100% dedicated to our clients, members and the wider community through these difficult times. Please (and we mean this) if you are struggling - reach out. Human connection during these times is be the most important thing to remember. Isolation does not mean disconnection. We are always a text, phone call or zoom meeting away. - Over the coming days and weeks we will provide you with more information around our online platform. If you have an appointment booked in the coming months one of our team will be in touch soon to move that appointment over to our Telehealth service that is up and running. - BeFit Physio Team See more
