24.01.2022 What a wonderful first rally day for 2020! We had 22 riders and several brand new members! Thank you to our instructors Cathy, sharon and Kylie. The kids had a ball!! I took a few pics but didn’t manage to capture everyone! A huge Thank you to our regular setter uppers and packer uppers! Without you few we wouldn’t be able to have these days!!

23.01.2022 Sanden Clinic is now full!! Thankyou to all who have helped make this work. We’re very much looking forward to next weekend. If anyone has any flu like symptoms please let us know before the weekend as you will be unable to attend and during gear check you will be asked to dismount. Full pony club uniform must be worn.... Unfortunately due to OHS we are unable to supply BBQ lunch. So please pack your own food and drinks. We will post up group times once payment is paid and confirmed. Cheers Heidi

21.01.2022 Do you know the "elf knots"? According to an ancient legend, the fairies visited the stables in the middle of the night to make knots in the manes of the horses.... It is said that once the horsehair of the horses braided, these little creatures used knots as stirrups to ride the horses at nightfall. So if you find it in the morning in the mane of your horses is that the fairies have passed by last night. See more

If you are attending please complete the attached Covid-19 Self declaration form prior to entering the grounds (every person on the ground MUST complete this form) Please maintain social distancing at all times and make use of our hand sanitizer. 20.01.2022 We would like to gauge interest in our plans so please reply or pm me with feedback and interest. We are looking at events that can be easily run at home or in ...adjistment paddocks with limited equipment. Timeframes will be determined depending on how long this goes and how popular the events are. We are looking at: 5 sporting events 2 riding classes 1 presentation challenge A quiz This coming month. Nominations are preferred as it gives us an idea of interest. Sporting: We will provide layouts and sizes for the sporting. Yes this will need to be based on honesty, in the spirit of the event. You will need to video the rider completing the event, with either a stopwatch or second phone in the bottom of the screen clearly showing the time at the end of the video. I will post an example of an acceptable video. These will Be placed, and feedback given. Riding: we will provide a workout. Video rider completing this, once entries are closed these will be judged, placed and feedback given. Presentation: I will provide details of this challenge- send the appropriate photo or video in. These will be judged, placed and feedback given. Quiz- these are based on certificate questions and general knowledge of an appropriate level. A new one posed each month. These will be marked, and placed. To complete this you will need to nominate as I need to give you a username/password per rider to log into the tests. These will be from E- C Star at this stage, suitable for under 7 years up to adult. We will be doing this as a fun exercise to work on and improve, it will be competitive in a fashion (needing honesty and integrity), we will be providing some ribbons, small prizes and certificates as appropriate, however we will also be maintaining a record of each riders performance and will be acknowledging each riders own personal improvement over this time too. We will be looking at getting our information out in the next few days for our first event. Entries will close at 5pm Sunday 12th April 2020, and results as soon as practicable after that. Comp is for all riders from led to adult, and are welcome from any area so please share this out so people know.

19.01.2022 A few things from our meeting last night... Marie will be holding E certificate evening on the 12th nov at the Bega showground tea rooms- all our children from led are encouraged to attend.5.30pm Pizza and drinks will be provided. Can we please get an idea of numbers by commenting on this post. Any members who have not done E certificate and want to go through the grades need to please do this.... Next rally day will be 24th nov (pending attendance)if there is not enough we will just do sporting and games day. 1st of December we are having a pony club trail ride!all members need parental supervision-(walking/horseback/car)-please bring packed lunch and some $$$ to buy an ice cream from the factory.more details to come.if we can have as many parent riders would be fabulous. Christmas party please rsvp by 7th dec to let us know catering purposes Will be held on 15th dec 3pm Bega river reserve(new flats) BBQ Please bring a salad/sweets to share PonyClub will provide meat and drinks Each member will be given their gift E and D certificate will be awarded. 17.01.2022 Our first rally day is this Sunday the 15th of March! Gear check at 9am. We will be setting up at 8:30 Saturday morning and it would be great if we could have some helpers so we can all enjoy our weekend. A few notes for Sunday morning - all parents/carers are to sign the pony club waiver prior to their children mounting their horse. Vicky will have this ready for you on Sunday - please lead you horse to gear check so that your helmets can be checked and tagged... -reminder that all riders are to walk between their trucks/floats and activities - please bring something for morning tea to share If you haven’t already- please click on the link for membership See more

15.01.2022 Sunday = Rally day! We have a few committee members away this weekend so I think it’s going to be easier to set a few things up Saturday afternoon. It would be great to have some helpers at 3:30pm so we can have it done quickly. We need to set up a jump ring and novelties. If we want rally days to happen we need all hands on deck! Sunday- 8:30 gear check and don’t forget to bring something along for morning tea.

12.01.2022 We had 14 of our riders turn up to sit their E certificate. All of our members who were there tonight will need to do a ridden section to complete it. This will be held at our next rally day on the 24th of November. We will also be holding the D certificate. To be eligible to complete the D certificate you must have completed your E cert and be 8 years and over. Thank you to Marie for sharing your knowledge with our kids.

12.01.2022 For those attending our gymkhana on Sunday please bring your grading cards No cards no jump If your camping Saturday night please pay the care taker on arrival we will not be collecting payments for camping ... Parking will be on the left hand side of the main gate or down the back near the stables, please do not park on the right as you come into the Showground, this is reserved for Showground campers only We have the bottom toilets being blocked off from the general public for our use only so please advise your kidlets to use those toilets We will have some beautiful cakes and slices hot food including some home made soups, we also have some fantastic raffles prizes Looking forward to a great day and let’s hope the weather holds out for us

10.01.2022 Ok so these are our groups for tomorrow if there’s any issues plz let me know! We’ve done our best to accomodate sporting commitment and friendship groups! Gentle reminder that we need to get it paid by today. Set up for tomorrow’s clinic is 7/30 am if there’s a couple of helpers to be there.if not pack up will be around 3.30/4pm. Please be saddled up and ready to participate in your group 10mins prior to your time. Also if there’s any one who can please help out with lunch(...bbq and serving) that’d be great. 09.01.2022 As of the 30th July Council Meeting the following rule will apply to Section 8 Eventing Rules: Clause 8 Uniform The use of approved Body Protectors for all dis...ciplines is permitted. They may be worn over or under Pony Club uniform with preference to wearing under the shirt or the jumper. Back numbers must be worn on the outside. Cross Country the use of Body Protector is mandatory at all levels for competition and training for Cross Country at all PCA NSW activities and events. A body protector manufactured after 2009 and labelled as complying with one of the following standards is mandatory effective 1st January 2020. EN13158:2009 level 3 BETA 2009 Level 3 EN13158:2018 level 3 BETA 2018 Level 3 This uniform rule is to bring PCA NSW in line with EA and other equestrian organisations for rider safety and is mandatory for all levels of eventing including training. (adults and kids- flipper allowed) the Bega pool business house relay has invited our club to get some teams together for this fun event. Bring some nibbles and drinks and have a fun afternoon! 05.01.2022 Christmas in July Clinic! For Bega pony club Members... SANDEN Equestrian are coming!! We are extremely lucky to get this opportunity for such fabulous instructors to come to our area. We are lucky enough this Saturday to have Clinton van der sanden and Sarah Wheaton at Bega pony club for a Jumping and flatwork/dressage clinic..... We are looking for everyone interested in this for Saturday 27th July.. all ages and levels(off lead) Lessons include 1hour Jumping lesson 1hour flatwork/dressage Cost will be dependent on numbers(approx between $30-50 for both lessons. Also included a sausage sizzle and drink for all riders participating. Please let me know ASAP if your interested so that we can work out times to suit our busy lifestyles and weekend sport.(we will do our best to accomodate this) Also available if you can only fit in one lesson rather than two.. All our bega pony club members are just so appreciative of you guys coming down to instruct here.. So thankful to have had such quality instructors come here to instruct. Biggest thanks and we cannot wait to have you both back

03.01.2022 Expression of interest for 28th/29th March We now are lucky enough to have Sanden Equestrian clinic for Showjumping and flatwork back again!!Will be a great start to our pony club season. Can any riders that are capable off lead and above and interested please comment on this post- by wed arvo.... Cost will be 50% covered by Bega pony club and until we get final numbers we will not have exact cost but it will include the following- 2x flatwork lessons(1hr each) 2x jumping lessons(1hr each) Please comment on this post with rider name/ horses name and age/heights. 03.01.2022 Bega pony club trail ride..... Sunday 1st dec is our trail ride! Details below ... Gear check 9am for a 9:30 start. We will be traveling road side in a few areas through rivers, and stopping at the cheese factory for an ice cream on our way home. Plans are to be back at pony club grounds approximately by 12. If anyone is requiring snacks/drinks we would advise you to carry a small backpack or have a parent meet at factory with food etc Also remember for your ice creams. All members that are needing assistance need to please have an adult with you either on foot or horseback. If we can please have some parent riders that’d be great we need at least 3 for our day to go ahead, so please comment on this post to advise if your able/unable to come Sunday, to get a rough idea. It’s looking like a lovely day 24degrees forecast. So looking forward it! Cheers

02.01.2022 Hi members, this is to gauge interest so please comment here, text me on 0429026558 or email me at [email protected] with feedback and interest. Owing t...o the real lack of events, and the fact that most of our club grounds have been impacted by the fires either physically or as evac or recovery centres it’s meant most clubs can’t put on events- even without the added Covid restrictions. Now with the latest directives, our riders are not able to attend events out of zone where things are still happening. This being the case, we have Moruya club running their combined training day this Sunday (remember to get your entries in) but we will look at holding another event- perhaps a Gymkhana, or a sporting day. Any other suggestions are welcome though. We will only put this on if there is sufficient interest though. Please let me know ASAP and share to your club pages so all members get to have input. 02.01.2022 Big thanks to all our wonderful committee and members for a very successful day today..especially our first gymkhana as a whole new committee Our gymkhana was certainly an awesome event with wonderful memories to remember... Many thanks for all the help received prior to the event and on the day! Thanks to our judges Sallie slater,Kate Durrant Curtis, Jenny Beresford, Greg grant , Kirsty Mcpaul (course designer)and their pencillors,all our timekeepers,chefs,bbq people, can...teen workers ,set up pack up, photographer peter sheales,our scorers in the office, rail replacers, bakers,all helpers, and our commentator Melinda! Great job Huge thanks to Cathy abrahams for soups and cooking.. much appreciated. Congratulations to all our members on their ribbons and achievements. Thanks to all riders for coming and supporting our club in such a great day. Big congratulations to our living legend Marie smith on your award from pony club Australia-53 years of service is truly amazing and she certainly does deserve this award!thanks for everything you do for us Thanks to our families and friends for coming to spectate... 02.01.2022 A couple of reminders! Tonight at 5:30- E Certificate at the Bega showground. This is a great opportunity for our members to learn more about their ponies. After completing their E certificate children from 7-8 years up can then go on to get their D certificate. We are still chasing a few point score trophies. If these could be dropped at the showground tonight or into Lynn at Baz's pumps.

01.01.2022 Christmas catch-up Hello all our lovely members We have decided to do a small gathering at the river next Tuesday arvo15th dec from 4.30 -6 for something for the kids. This year is not the usual pony club year- there will be no awards or presentations unfortunately as we have not had any major competitions.... However the committee decided we would meet at river down from the BEGA public school at the tables. If everyone can bring a plate of xmas cheer to share. Lollies and a can of fizzy will be provided for the members. If you are coming please bring swimmers towel and sunscreen etc and a chair. 01.01.2022 Marie has a great idea! She suggested that we have a trading table at each rally day. This gives us a chance to donate any horsey gear or clothes that we no longer use. Anything that isn’t swapped or taken by a member we can store in the shed until next rally day . If you wish to sell anything pop your name and price on the item.
