With four teams in the Open competition, the finals were played this afternoon between Merimbula-Imlay and Eden. It was a close game with the score at 16 all, after the 17th end. Then Merimbula drew away and took the title 22 to 16. It was an exciting match to watch between two engaging teams. Two Merimbula teams, one skipped by Joy Scott and the other by Glenda Savill, will meet in the Senior Fours final at Eden tomorrow morning.

05.01.2022 Merimbula-Imlay WBC represented the District in all four championships at the recent Regional Play-offs held at Tomakin, and was successful in three of them. Merimbula's excellent bowl placement and leadership in today's Open and Seniors Fours competitions, made it exciting for both the players and spectators. Reese Finn/Young, Sue Finn, Leanne Swingler and Emma Pettit won 19-17 against Narooma in the Open Fours final. In the Senior Fours final, Sue Pope, Kerrie Burns, Maureen McArdle and Glenda Savill beat Malua Bay 22 to 15. Emma and Scott Pettit won the Mixed Pairs competition on Sunday. Rain interrupted yesterday's Singles Championship which meant that Gerri Nott had to finish her match this morning but was not successful. The State Championships will be held at Malua Bay in February 2021.
04.01.2022 Today's Singles finals couldn't have been closer, with only 1 point the difference and a Merimbula-Imlay bowler sure to win. The path to the final had Gerri Nott win over Di Skipworth and Emma Pettit won over Kirsty Woods. Then Gerri went on to win 25 to 24 over Emma. Congratulations to Gerri, 2020 District Singles Champion, and well done to Emma for a 'fantastic' game by all accounts. Leah McKinnon
