22.01.2022 Ship Ahoy with Captain Curtis Montessori school students and teachers had an exciting visit early this term from Captain (Ian) Curtis who sailed in with his able assistant Miss Deck Hand (Shirlene Curtis) to demonstrate the art of sailing a small boat. He captured everyone’s imagination by handing out small pieces of string to illustrate how to tie a reef knot. As the students mastered the technique, they were given a chance to clamber aboard and use their reef knot skills ...to control the movement of the sail across the boat without damaging their heads. There were plenty of eager sailors wanting to use different coloured ropes to adjust the different actions of the sail. The students were keen to discover the way the wind could be understood and controlled by the size and shape of the sail and the fluttering of the tell tail ribbons and how this affected the movement and direction of a boat. It was a fun time and no one got sea sick. See more

21.01.2022 Dear Families, We are delighted to let you all know that our Playgroup program will be starting tomorrow, Tuesday 17th March, at 9:30-11:30am. Michaela Rouch, formally from Beechworth Montessori Tiny Tots Program, will be launching our Playgroup program this year, and will be here with us for the remainder of Term 1. Michaela comes with many years of experience with the 0-3 years children and is the mother of 6 children herself. Michaela was here in 2017 to inaugurate our first Playgroup and we are delighted that she is able to return to assist us again this year.

If you have an interest in the Montessori method or have been considering sending your children to the Montessori school this is a great way to learn more about Montessori while spending quality one on one time with your child in the beautiful prepared environment. Montessori is suitable for all ages and abilities. There are areas in th...e environment for infants through to preschoolers. The playgroup is also a wonderful transitioning tool for children who will be joining the Cycle 1 classroom. They become familiar with the school and staff, making the move to the classroom an enjoyable and exciting experience! The playgroup currently runs on Wednesdays from 9.30-11.30am and is $5 per child. We are also looking to run the program on a second day each week, so if you are unable to attend on a Wednesday, please let us know which day you would like to come along instead! 02.01.2022 Great day at Montessori following the lead of the child! Caleb brought in for show and tell’ a 205 piece dinosaur puzzle, prompting a "Dinosaur Day" and the group effort of completing the puzzle.
