23.01.2022 Ninety percent of incidents are caused by human error. The potential for incidents and injury remain high when the focus is on lagging indicators. Behavioural Safety and Human Error Reduction Training focuses on leading indicators and is an important consideration for all businesses, whether they are a high risk or low risk business. I believe if we can create an emotion in someone we can influence behaviour, story telling is great way to create emotion.

15.01.2022 If you create an emotion in someone through a positive, influencing conversation identifying a potential outcome of an at-risk action, you can influence their behaviour. Similarly if you have a positive conversation on safe actions you re-enforce these actions and manifest safe behaviour.

14.01.2022 When we make decisions we believe we are objective, logical, and capable of absorbing and evaluating all the information presented to us. In reality, our decisions are often riddled with errors and influenced by a wide variety of filters. Our filters are set by our attitudes and beliefs and these are very powerful and influential biases. If we can understand our filters we can better understand our behaviour and therefore how we think about our safety.
