06.01.2022 The Game Changer is real Our daily routine is different, the people with whom we spend our days with are different, our sense of purpose is different, our attitudes, behaviors and values change. These differences are positive differences. Our game has changed. We don’t become ‘worse off’ for gaining structure and routine in our lives. We are not a negative influence on our children for going to work every day. We do not struggle more when our income increases. When employme...nt allows these differences into our lives- our lives change. We become prouder people. We have achievements to tell our friends about. We meet new people that make us think differently. Our opinions on others change. We have stories to tell our children over dinner. Our dinners improve. Our children become less negative as we become more positive. We laugh more and argue less. Our children too. We enjoy doing our grocery shopping as a family. We can barely remember the endless days spent filling our pockets with food, and the disappointment getting home to discover crucial items were forgotten and dinner can no longer be made. We now have less court dates marked on the calendar and more birthday parties and work functions to remember. Our future is no longer a reflection of our past. We are a reflection of our future. The bus driver greets me by name as he picks me up from my stop. The staff at the cafe remember my morning coffee order each day. I become prouder as my face becomes more familiar. I am acknowledged and included in my community. I still collect pens from all over the world. I still get impatient when i am put on hold. I still take extremely long showers. I am still me- just the better version of me. I was given an opportunity. I accepted the challenge. We are all experiencing the benefits.
