25.01.2022 Enjoying my Xmas gift from Dennis

24.01.2022 We caught another baby spider in the pantry. Danny is obviously not scared of spiders either!

05.01.2022 Eating disorders: there was a question on the NMB Facebook page reaching out for a recommended psychologist. I sent her an answer from the perspective of myself..someone who struggled daily with this issue from around the age of 11. On reflection (and I’ve reflected a lot), my initial period when I stopped eating was a cry for help. I had given up and I remember sitting in the kitchen on a wooden bar stool, drinking the 1/2 glass of apple juice I allowed myself for the day an...Continue reading

04.01.2022 2020 is no doubt a tough year. 2019 well and truly prepared me for this year in good ways and in tough ways. 13th March 2019: baby Danny entered the world. Our little blessing to heal me and to bring our family back into harmony after some rough years prior. June 2019: I was at work and received a call from Dennis to say Will was in a heap of pain and massive fever. Dennis took Will to hospital and that night he was transferred to the Childrens’ Hospital in Randwick. Dennis ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 My workout for the day. I’ve been shuffling to Newport each day with Danny (in his pram and having a sleep)..but due to the weather this morning decided not to get wet. Danny is asleep now so the kids and I are doing a ‘Try Not to Laugh Challenge’ from You Tube. First to ten who laughs at the videos is the loser..and I’m that person! Perfect time to squeeze in a 30min stationary bike ride. If you don’t have a stationary bike you can use your regular bike and pop it on a win...dtrainer..you don’t need anything too flash. No bike..no worries..just pick any exercises that are cardio based (eg joging on the spot, burpees, skipping, dancing, shadow boxing etc) for some Tabata . THE WORKOUT. Light gear for 5mins. Can gradually increase gears as you get warmer. Light gear (racing gear) 20secs flat out : 10secs slow pace X 4rounds (Relax those shoulders, breathe) Heavier gear (still a seated gear, medium hill) 20secs flat out : 10secs standing slow pace (Make sure you have your abs switched on) X 4 rounds 1min active recovery on bike (light gear, light pace) Continue for 20min. So you have 8rounds and then the 1min recovery for 20mins in total. 5min light ride warm down. Stretch. I’m working out to ‘Try Not to Laugh’ on You Tube. Choose whatever keeps you motivated: a movie, You Tube, music . Enjoy
