25.01.2022 Roadmap to reopening! We are back to face to face training very soon, but there are some changes in line with the Roadmap out of lockdown. Step 1 - Outdoor training 1-1, 2-1 only from October 4 to November 4... Step 2 - Indoor training including group fitness and Active Ageing for FULLY VAXXED clients only. If you are not vaxxed, or only partially vaxxed, outdoor training or online are the only options. Applications are now open for Term 4 for FIRE and group fitness. 25.01.2022 ONE MORE WEEK!

25.01.2022 It's been a long time coming, but I can finally reopen the studio on June 29 - with a few changes. FIRE the weights program will return with options of 1-1 and 2-1 (where the two are from the same household, ie, partners, parent/child,or siblings), for a 12 week block starting June 29, or a 10 week block starting July 13. You can apply now for your place by completing the form here, and I'll be in touch to arrange a quick Zoom meeting and book your times in. Active Ageing wil...l resume on June 29, with a limit of THREE people per class to maintain the required distancing. There will be a choice of two times - 9:00am and 10:00am on Mondays and Wednesdays only. You will need to book you time. First come first served with the times. ICE (30 minute Group Fitness) will not be returning to the studio for now. These classes will continue over Zoom for the foreseeable future. There will be changes to the way you access the studio and there is a minimum of 15 minutes between any client or group to allow for thorough cleaning of all equipment.

23.01.2022 Yesterday's announcements have given me some pathways to reopening. Here's a guide to what will hopefully happen! September 7 - September 19 - All classes, 1-1 on Zoom. Applications open for FIRE Term 4 (see below for how that will look)... September 19 - October 4 - I'm on holidays. No classes. October 5 - October 25 - Group Fitness and Active Ageing via Zoom, 1-1 FIRE via zoom or outdoors at the studio (I have an outdoor area). Note that masks may be required for face to face sessions. October 26 onwards- Hopefully everything back in the studio, blended with Zoom sessions for those that aren't local. This is, of course, all subject to change depending on government restrictions. The only thing I can be sure of is from today to October 5, and that Zoom sessions will be available either as the only option, or in conjunction with face to face sessions.

20.01.2022 There has been another update to the ONLINE programs I can offer. I could already offer combined nutrition and exercise (The Stepping Out Project) and, of course, there's the ZOOM group fitness classes. As of today, I can also offer online FIRE!!... What is FIRE? Focused Intense Resistance Exercise. The best way to build lean muscle mass to help you get stronger and burn more fat. Through an online portal, I can provide a personalised exercise program using the equipment you have access to, whether it be at home now, or at a gym in the future. The program comes complete with instructional videos and accountability. As with The Stepping Out Project and the ZOOM fitness classes, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, I can work with you!

Becki was doing FIRE with me before the lockdowns, and is looking forward to using this time to learn about how to eat and fuel her body while working out at home instead of the studio! 19.01.2022 I'm getting ready to start up again with one-one clients starting Monday 29th June (This is a week later then the Government's current plan, because my daughter has exams that week and I will be busy with school commutes) So there are two options. 12 week one-one weights program (FIRE) starting week beginning June 29, or 10 week one-one weights program (FIRE) starting week beginning July 13. I can also do two-one if the two are from the same household, so partners or parent.../child. To book your (tentative) place in this program or to find out more, comment below or message me.



18.01.2022 Gyms are due to reopen on Monday June 22nd. What does that mean for my little studio? I don't know yet. I know there will be some changes, but can i run groups? Who knows. ... At this stage I'm planning on resuming 1-1 FIRE or 2-1 FIRE where the two are from the same household. Group Fitness will stay over ZOOM only for now, but there may be changes to days and times. Active Ageing will take a wait and see to see what the advice is from the health authorities, but hopefully we can get something happening in July. Watch this space for updates as things become clearer!

17.01.2022 COVID Update... Following yesterday's announcements, masks are no longer required inside the studio for anyone, however you must carry one with you. As before, if you have any symptoms, please stay home and if you're well enough we can do a Zoom session instead.... 16.01.2022 NEW FIRE UP program goes online! FIRE UP lets you do your workouts at home and can transition to a gym once gyms reopen. What you get:... A 12 week, personalised workout program using the equipment you have access to. Accountability to make sure you complete the workouts. Option of upgrading at any time to the Stepping Out Program that teaches you how to eat to recover from exercise and lose body fat, with weekly tasks and accountability. Transferable to a gym setting once gyms reopen. Membership of a closed Facebook group with others on the same program for community and support. 13.01.2022 Kickstart your post-lockdown fitness with a 6 week Functional FIRE program at Being You PT in Belgrave South. Functional FIRE is a combination of weights and cardio that increases strength, helps to build muscle and also improves cardio vascular fitness. 13.01.2022 We are on the downhill run to (hopefully) the end of Stage 4 restrictions and the possibility that I can reopen the studio. I am now taking bookings for FIRE (1-1 only) for term 4, starting the week beginning October 5. FIRE can be done in person in the studio (when restrictions allow), via video using the equipment you have access to, or even an unsupervised option where I give you your tailored workout with instructional videos (This is a new option and it's very exciting! 10.01.2022 How do you measure success? The fitness industry is all about "weight loss", but that only tells part of the story, and sometimes that part gives a completely false picture of what is happening. Did you know that muscle is denser than fat, meaning a unit of muscle will take up less room than the same unit of fat. So if you're working out and eating well, and not losing weight, perhaps you're looking at the wrong metrics. So, throw out your scales, and pick up a tape measure.... Shout out to Karen Edwards who has done just that. We don't give a flying fuck how much Karen weighs, but I am excited that she has lost 56cm in her girth measurements since September. That might seem like slow progress in the whole "Quick fix, 6 week challenge" environment that makes up so much of this industry. The difference is, Karen is learning how to eat, what foods work best for her body and is slowly changing habits so she can sustain these changes, and make even more progress as she goes. 09.01.2022 WE WILL BE REOPENING SOON! The Being You PT studio will be reopening on Tuesday 10th November for 1-1 training. This means if you're currently training over Zoom, you have the option of continuing over Zoom , or coming into the studio.... I will also be running a 6 week intro to FIRE/Weights training program for new clients (one session per week) or a shortened program for existing clients. Can't wait to see you back in the studio soon! (Group Fitness and Active Ageing will continue over Zoom for the time being)

06.01.2022 One more week until classes resume for 2021! Working within current COVID restrictions, 4 people can be in the studio for Group Fitness and Active Aging, but bookings are essential. Both Group Fitness and Active Aging will also be running on Zoom for those who can't, or don't wish to train in the studio.
