Now we finally have our little hobby in full swing so now we can make bulk ear rings to set up at the markets to sell and donate all proceeds to charity Last Month I ran some classes at one of our local all girls school to promote happy, healthy mental health and new friendships while raising money for Be kind townsville the girls loved it!! Had so much fun, I can not wait to deliver everyone’s fantastic earring packs My youngest daughter also ran a fundraising for her school selling her ear rings at Horsomes coffee Good work Lexi! (Thanks Shelly!!) 23.01.2022 Be Kind has worked with and did a story on these two amazing women this year and we will continue to help where we can... "Hi, I’m Kate. I’m trying to track down the amazingly kind samaritans who helped myself and my young family during a medical emergency at Castle Town shopping centre yesterday 29th December around midday. We were shopping with our 3 month old daughter and I was temporarily on my own. I have Functional Neurological Disorder which caused me to collapse and I... was having a seizure. I was unconscious but I am told that these few women, whoever you are, put me in a safe position, protected my head from injury, contacted 000, called my emergency contact on my medical bracelet, found a pillow for under my neck, stayed with me keeping me safe and reassuring me until paramedics arrived. Whoever you are, thank you! Here is a photo of myself and my wife Meg for anyone who may have seen what happened or for the heroes of the day themselves to recognise us. 23.01.2022 MIND Australia in the Townsville region have become the the FIRST EVER 'BE KIND APPROVED' ORGANISATION!! Thanks to the team at Mind Australia youth residential service in Annandale for sharing their Be Kind post-it notes! Staff and residents at this service, which provides individual and group support for young people with mental ill-health in a safe home environment, already have more than 50 acts of kindness on their community noticeboard. Great going!... We can't wait to present those involved with a plaque at this year's KINDNESS WALK; acknowledging and showcasing their achievement on successfully becoming a BE KIND APPROVED ORGANISATION. The funds raised go into Be Kind's recources to spread facts around mental health and the effects of Kindness; as well as supplying merchandise so that we can continue to spread hope, engage with the community and give back to the local.
