03.01.2022 Often when we humans want to reward our horse, we pat them, or slap-pat them. Heres the thing, they DO NOT feel that as a reward. Save the pats for your d...ogs, because they DO love them! But horses, they find the pats disruptive and often actually just end up tolerating them over time but they CANNOT feel reward in a pat. Now, they CAN and DO feel reward in a rub. Youve never seen horses pat each other on the back in the field, but you HAVE seen them nuzzle, groom and rub each other. Rubbing your horse is a GREAT way to show reward and give comfort to your horse. It may seem less climatic, but thats EXACTLY what your horse wants and is seeking; nice, calm and low energy. So next time you visit with your horse, how are you going to reward them for a job well done? A pat or a rub?

03.01.2022 More of these wonderful kids and their ponies

01.01.2022 This is why I choose to always wear a helmet. Even today on a trail ride in Alaska I took my helmet on holiday with me.
