23.01.2022 With Melbourne’s latest easing of restrictions, Remedial Massage is still not able to return to offering routine services. I am hopeful for this to happen by the 2nd November when we are expected to progress to the full third step!

22.01.2022 Want to achieve deep relaxation? Sometimes thorough remedial work is needed to help you let go of physical tension, other times you might want more focus on nurturing yourself, relieving mental stress and just taking some time out (which tends to release physical stress too!). Thats why I now offer aromatherapy massages, using a specially selected combination of essential oils with gentle, flowing movements to allow you to really zone out. And stop. And breathe. On doing these treatments, Ive been surprised to find how much the muscles do release, without me doing my usual poking... which I know will please some of you! Choose the Aromatherapy Massage option when you book in!

22.01.2022 Can you believe its so close to the end of the year?? How did that happen?? Here are my opening hours until then... Business as usual until Friday 22nd December. Open- Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th & Friday 29th December... perfect if you are off work during this time :-) Back in business from Tuesday 2nd January.

20.01.2022 Hi! I’m back And feeling after a break so I’m ready to

19.01.2022 For those of you who would like to know a bit more about cupping, here is some information on the particular technique that I use, which is Myofascial Cupping involving plastic cups attached to the skin with air suction. It is a very different procedure from the cupping used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with different treatment aims. One benefit I see is the ability to draw tension from deep within a muscle to the surface, which can then be manually worked out much more e...asily and painlessly. As the article states, whether the skin marks or not, isnt part of measuring the success of the treatment, and there are ways to avoid marks at all, but most people, depending on the reactivity of the skin, will see some redness that fades quickly, or have some marks that last for a few days, often indicating areas where more ingrained tension was being held. It often prolongs the effects of a treatment and is a great tool to get the edge on chronic pain and posture problems. See more

19.01.2022 Are your hands getting dry & cracked from all the washing & hand sanitising? Try this before bed- Ensure you have thoroughly washed & dried your hands. Rub 1 teaspoon of olive oil (extra virgin cold pressed is best) into all the dry & cracked areas- especially backs of hands and individual knuckles- really massage it in there! You can also rub into your cuticles if they need some love too. Extra power 1- mix a drop of lavender &/or frankincense essential oils to the olive... oil to add to the healing & repairing effect (and make you smell less like dinner). Extra power 2- mix the oils into a dollop of your usual hand cream & massage that all in together. Extra power 3- seal it all in by wearing a pair of cotton gloves (or socks if thats easier to find!!) overnight. Let this soak in then wash off any residue the next morning (should be well absorbed by then though!). You can do this as often as needed, even nightly till you see improvement! See more

19.01.2022 As my evening appointments are more popular than daytime, given normal working hours for the majority of people, it can sometimes be tricky to get in as soon as you would like or need! If thats the case, dont hesitate to get in touch so I can keep you in mind for any last minute vacancies, or see what I can come up with. Also, given daytimes are usually quieter, if you happen to have an RDO or any weekday day time off, feel free to reschedule your appointment (via website or me) to an earlier time. Keep me in mind for any of your pregnant, retired or free-during-the-day friends too!

18.01.2022 Here are some great stretches that you can do throughout the day to break up your desk work a bit! I definitely recommend wearing sweatbands if you want them to work ;-) I think the most effective & possibly least attention-getting ones for a crowded office would be 7, 8, 9, 12 & 13...

17.01.2022 Dispensary shifts are fun! I worked in the Naturopathy Student Dispensary last Friday & got to play with herbal tinctures & make a tea to support a good nights sleep. 12.01.2022 Do you like the idea of taking a short break during your working day to zone out for a bit, get some knots smoothed out & return feeling revived & more productive? Workplace Massage, or Corporate Massage, is becoming quite popular for those benefits as well as many others. It can take on many forms and can be performed at a persons desk, in a special massage chair (as pictured in the article) or on a full-sized portable massage table. Its suitable for office staff, factory ...workers and any other workplaces where the roles have a high impact on posture, muscle tension and even mental energy. Implementing a program like this tends to work best if it is done regularly, say every one to two months, but can also be great as a once off for a special event or as a reward for staff. If your workplace is near to Melbourne and may be interested in implementing Workplace Massage, drop me a line & I can provide you more detailed information on setting something up! See more

11.01.2022 So, unfortunately I have stopped massaging as of yesterday, following the governments directive for people to stay at home except for work, exercise or medical... As I am hands-on in close proximity for an hour or more with my clients, I feel like it is the most responsible thing to do. And hopefully the sooner we all take what seems like drastic steps, the sooner we can get back to what we love! So, on that note I am going to have a LOT of time on my hands & will do anything I can think of to equip you to get through this time without your regular treatments by providing as much online content as I can! Please shout out with anything that would be useful to have some information on, or resources you would like, in the musculoskeletal or naturopathy arenas

11.01.2022 Oh happy day!! I just received word from my association that the DHHS has confirmed that Remedial Massage can resume in Step 3 of the ‘Road Map’ which looks to happen on the 19th October. I will wait until there is certainty on the date that metropolitan Melbourne will move to step 3 before I start taking appointments and open my online booking. If you would like me to personally let you know when I open up my books again, please send me a text or email & I will make sure you find out as soon as possible! I cannot WAIIIIT to see you

11.01.2022 This is what you can expect in a Naturopathy consult with me in the Student Clinic. Thats why the first appointment takes 90 minutes! For $20 its pretty great value

10.01.2022 My non-talent for keeping green things alive plus living in an apartment is not conducive to growing herbs & veggies successfully... up until now! This beautiful wall garden from Sky High Gardens is soo clever- it waters itself via solar energy battery power, delivering water from the bottom tank to each pot on each tier on a daily timer With my growing love of herbs for their medicinal properties as well as their tastiness, having access to such a variety is super exciting Mint tea! Basil pesto! Rosemary potatoes! Parsley to make things fancy!

10.01.2022 Letting you know that I will be overseas from next Friday 3rd March, and back in my studio on Monday 27th March. I do have day times and a few early evenings still available until then so please dont hesitate to come & see me if youre in need!

06.01.2022 Welcome to 2017! Hows it going so far? For those of you back at work, why not start the year with some good desk posture? Take a look at the link below for some good tips on setting up your workstation. The rule that I use to do a quick check when I sit down at my desk is to think in terms of keeping the blood circulating through the body as easily as possible. For example, you want fresh, oxygenated blood to reach all the way to your fingers and toes without having to fight... gravity- so have your hands slightly lower than your wrists, which should be slightly lower than your elbows, which are lower than your shoulders. You can apply the same to ankles, knees and hips. And for the blood thats coming back up from your extremities, its already fighting gravity so help it along by not having any extra bends for the blood to get around, such as having your feet further out from your body than your knees, rather than tucked behind or underneath you. Getting up to shake it all out every now & then & having regular sips of water will help with comfort & concentration levels also! Stay tuned for some deskercise suggestions for my next post! 03.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came to see me in Naturopathic Student Clinic this semester... I learnt so much & have been so inspired to help equip you to further enhance your health! I look forward to continuing this in my last semester, from August till November! As I will have extra hours, I would love for you to come see me if you havent already, or if you have, to come again so we can continue your wellness adventure together! I will have Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays available so I will keep you posted as the time draws closer!

01.01.2022 What is Naturopathy? you ask! Well, heres what it means to me & why I love it so much. It is the belief that the body is an incredible instrument, capable of being healthy, well & vibrant given the right circumstances and with an amazing ability to self-heal when things go wrong. When this balance is upset, such as in illness, disease or just not feeling great, it is due to something that is disrupting these healing mechanisms.... Instead of layering a medication or band-aid solution on this, doesnt it make sense to find out what threw your body out in the first place and remove or correct this or add whats missing? These factors can be genetic predispositions, environmental, dietary & lifestyle contributors etc etc. A large part of treatment is suggesting changes to make in these areas & providing the tools & support for this in a way that you can implement successfully into your life. When we prescribe, it is to support the body in being able to do its thing better, for example- provide missing nutrients essential to organ or system function and use herbs that stimulate & regulate the bodys natural processes. Can you tell I love this? If youre interested in seeing how Naturopathy can work for you, I would LOVE for you to visit me in Student Clinic! And as a thank you, Ill give you $10 off your next massage!

01.01.2022 So, its my last day of massaging today until Monday 27th March. I thought Id leave you with a musical interlude until I return! I take no responsibility if listening to it gives you flash backs of me digging the elbow in...
