This is why you might... feel better after going for a 30 minute walk or doing an online yoga class. During Stage 4 lockdown, it’s more important than ever to look after both your mental and physical health - during the current restrictions if you’re going for a walk, run or a ride it means exploring your local neighbourhood. We’re encouraging you to share where you are walking, riding or running in your 5km area and join the Active Living Yarra Ranges competition! To enter post a photo of yourself from your daily 1 hour of exercise and tag @yrcouncil and #activelivingyarraranges on your post to go in to the draw to win one of three great prizes. To ensure we can see your photo make sure you’re posting publicly. If you're under 18, you'll need to enter your photo via our form, with parent permission. 13.01.2022 We promised social tennis in an exciting new format and here it is!! Read the info in this post for full details, follow the link to register and feel free to dm with any queries. ALL WELCOME!! Belgrave Tennis Club have launched a new weekly match play social competition night, taking place EVERY WEDNESDAY 8PM between now and Christmas. Each week we will organise a mix of doubles and singles (depending on numbers) and play sets with rotating partners. The Universal Tenni...s Rating (UTR) system will form the basis of the competition. Don’t worry, there is no need to immerse yourself in the details of the UTR, but we have more info on that at the end of the post for those interested Our Match Play competition evenings are perfect for those who want to play competitive matches but can't commit to being in a team and playing every week. For those who already play comp you have an opportunity to get in another evening of play on the weeks that you want. There is no commitment to play every week giving you complete flexibility but with competitive matches. Numbers will be limited to 12 players each week and registrations must be done online in advance. Cost is only $5 per night. 07.01.2022 Over the last few weeks we have been operating a social competition night using the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) system. These Wednesday nights have been a fun and flexible night of competition and so we are looking to expand our UTR competition to also take place on Sunday afternoons. Starting this Sunday November 29 and each Sunday until Christmas we will be hosting a UTR competition session from 2pm to 4pm. The cost is free for members and $5 for non-members (paid in cas...h at the club). You must register in advance online if you wish to take part. Go to https://app.myutr.com/clubs/11938 and follow the prompts to sign up for a free UTR account and join us for some fun competitive tennis. You can also sign up a the same location for any of our Wednesday UTR nights (8-10pm). Usually we play doubles with rotating partners but there is an opportunity to play singles if numbers allow.
