25.01.2022 It's been quite a few years since I have updated photos. Blaise's vision has continued to improve. He saw Dr Christine Roman in June 2016 and she said that Blaise's vision was on the cusp of being normal. We have done 400 + hours of hyperbaric oxygen now and I am certain Blaise can see. He can pick up a silver spoon off a clear glass table or a grey mat. He is still extremely hard to catch looking directly at a camera, but he looks at or for what ever he is wanting. He notices people and things and can make choices between different foods, drinks and items. He has been assessed by a special needs teacher who said that he knows all the basic colours.
25.01.2022 Blaise told me that he needs some upside down time, so here he is just hanging around with Nico and working on new exercises :D
23.01.2022 Happy 2021! I'm still in the USA working hard and learning new skills. You can see how tall I am too! The year is off to a good start!
23.01.2022 Hi everyone! It has been a while since I posted! Quite a few people have messaged me lately to check on me and ask how I was doing. I'm doing great! We have been living in the USA for the last couple of years and I have been doing as many therapies as I can. Recently, I have slowed down a little on the therasuit therapy and on OT and I have been working a couple of times a week with my teacher, Brigitte. She was able to assess that I know all of my basic colours and has been... teaching me how to use an iPad for communication. We have been working on making sounds too. I am working with Jessica everyday for the next couple of weeks too. I fed myself for a good portion of my session with her the other day! I need to work on scooping with my spoon, but I have been able to pick it up, bring it to my mouth and put it back in the bowl. I will do 3 weeks with Nico at the end of next month. I have grown a lot! I am 133cm tall! I have been pulling up on to my knees very easily and I am quite stable on them. I work on getting up on to the lounge myself. I'm not quite there, but I'm working on it. I've also been seeing Dr Bogner at the clinic where I do Hyperbaric Oxygen. He has worked out a vitamin protocol based on my genetics. In between times I have been doing some ABM. It's a really gentle therapy that shows me how to move my body in the best possible way. A lot of the time I move in a way that is not efficient and causes strain. Heather is showing me that I can move in a better way. <3
22.01.2022 Snapped this photo of Blaise today while he was enjoying his massage <3
19.01.2022 Happy horse riding!
18.01.2022 Hello friends! We are all safe and well here in the USA. We have been on stay at home orders since midnight on the 23rd March and have been enjoying down time all together at home. Blaise thinks that this means he gets to eat 24 hours per day and has been filling in his days with food! There are no therapies at the moment, but he has been working one on one with his teacher Brigitte and working on using the iPad for communication. He has done a few weeks with Heather who is... his ABM teacher. She shows him how his body can move in an efficient way and we have done 3 weeks with his OT, Jessica who is working on feeding. We were scheduled to be with Nico right now and got one day with him before the lockdown too place. Blaise was very tight, but I the work brought him some relief. He is coming up 11 and has had a growth spurt. Very soon he will have to carry me instead. His legs are long! We hope you all stay well and that everything blows over quickly so we can all get back to normal. Stay safe <3
18.01.2022 If Blaise could walk with one leg, he would be walking already. Such independent steps with his left leg today <3
17.01.2022 Back into it for 2019! Practice makes perfect!
16.01.2022 Blaise can do what ever he sets his mind to. He was supposed to be using his walker as a stander, but decided he would rather be doing his own thing. He escaped like he has been escaping it for ever. Problem solving at it's best!
16.01.2022 Blaise has been working hard! Back Nico for a bit!
14.01.2022 This is what we are raising money for!! Therasuit has helped Blaise so very much! We need help to get Blaise back to Michigan this November. USD$12550 is the goal! 04.01.2022 It's been a long while since I have done an update! A few people have sent me some messages asking how I was. I am still working really hard with my therapies and doing well! I have been spending most of my time in the USA, trying to do as much hyperbaric oxygen, feeding therapy and therasuit as I can. Feeding myself, crawling and walking are coming easier to me than they have before - practice makes perfect!! I have been communicating where I want to go with gestures and I have been going in the chamber on my own too! This is all new! Another little surprise is that I am a big brother now! I have a little 12 week old sister. Her name is Zara <3 Thank you all for thinking of me! <3
04.01.2022 Blaise is feeding himself too!! This is such a great therapy session with J.L Hunt Therapeutics!
03.01.2022 Wednesday = horse riding! I was so keen to be here that I jumped straight out of Mummy's arms and in to the arms of the instructor! We rode a lot of different places today! Happy, happy horse riding!
02.01.2022 Before Blaise was diagnosed, I tried him in a jolly jumper (bad for development, I know) and I couldn't understand why his legs would not bounce. Even after his diagnosis, I still didn't. I still tried and we even bounced for him. Today, 9 years later, Blaise was JUMPING!!!! Nothing is a "never"
01.01.2022 I can repeat sounds! I have learned a lot from Jessica this last week or so! Sucking from a straw and bringing a spoon to my mouth and now sounds! I am a sponge
