18.01.2022 Would you believe this is all it takes to make chocolate? 4 simple ingredients that come together to create a rich, dark and not overly sweet, luxurious chocolate. No sugar, milk solids, emulsifiers or numbers that you don’t know what they mean. The ingredients here are in their purest form and have been minimally processed, meaning that nutrients have been retained. Below is a recipe you can try for yourself. Believe me, you won’t be missing the bunny figure and foil. 110...g cacao butter (this is the white mass in the picture, cacao mass is the dark one, you can use a combination of you like) 4 tablespoons of maple syrup 75g raw cacao powder (not cocoa powder, there is a big difference) Put the cacao butter and maple syrup in a bowl over a pot of boiling water. Stir until the cacao has melted. Remove from the heat and whisk through the cacao powder. You can add flavours at this point like cinnamon, sea salt, chilli, peppermint or vanilla extract. Spoon into mounds and set in the freezer.

17.01.2022 What a gorgeous Autumn day we have in Melbourne today. Getting out into the outdoors is so beneficial for the mind, body and soul. If you are surrounded by office buildings, the walls of your home or are in an artificially lit space, I challenge you to get outside, find yourself a patch of sun and soak it all up. I promise you will feel just as radiant afterwards. bbn

08.01.2022 I was recently asked if I had to eat the same breakfast for the rest of my life what would it be? I’ll be honest, my inner foodie scanned through the literally 100s of breakfasts I have had in cafes around Melbourne and reminisced on what have been some super tasty breakies. But it was my inner health nut that replied ‘I would just stick with my smoothie.’ I know it may seem boring but it really is the difference between me feeling great and feeling meh. The amount of nutr...ition that can be packed into a smoothie is huge and put simply nutrition = health. Here is a look at what I typically use to boost the nutrient content of my smoothies. Hemp seeds, LSA, cacao and chia seeds are like nutrient bombs and provide excellent nutritional benefits. What would you choose if you had to have the same thing for breakfast for the rest of your life? bbn See more

06.01.2022 The movie ‘That sugar film’ will be on telly tonight. If you haven’t already seen it, do yourself a favour and watch it. It has great explanations about what sugar does to the body and highlights how ‘health food’ sometimes isn’t so healthy after all. It’s such an important message that more aussies need to see.

04.01.2022 Check out the range of fruit and veggies in season this month. Notice how many have high water content to continue to support hydration while the weather is still warm. Buying seasonal gives your body what it needs for that time of year. Plus the quality and flavour is at its best. Try and get to a market this weekend and support local farmers directly. It will give you a nice warm, fuzzy feeling too.
