25.01.2022 Sometimes people fear the change that comes with implementing sustainable alternatives into our daily lives but I'm really happy to see a local business offering eco-friendly alternatives to non-compostable takeaway coffee cups and educating people about how important it is to take care of the only planet we can inhabit. I love Feast Geelong, especially their keep cup incentives, mug library... and their ridiculously good pizza. Thanks Eileen!
24.01.2022 Renewables are the way of the future
24.01.2022 In the chaos winds this week, my corflute on South Valley Rd appears gone with the wind If anyone spots it, could you please contact me on 0492 934 474 so I can retrieve it? Thanks in advance
23.01.2022 Morning legends, I'm on The Sustainable Hour podcast. Check out https://climatesafety.info/thesustainablehour332/. Also, if anyone would like to help out the campaign by putting one of my posters up in their yard/fence or shop front, please let me know as that would be amazing!
23.01.2022 Love these tips! I'm installing some heat pumps and more rainwater tanks this year. What are you legends up to?
23.01.2022 Hi legends, how awesome was the weather today?! Just a quick video update on the Put Climate First campaign trail so far. We swapped our active wear for a more formal look today at a socially-distanced photoshoot with masks, which was something different! Check out the events page for the livestream details on my upcoming chat the following Wednesday with the lovely folks from The Sustainable Hour, on 94.7 Pulse FM. Please help us by sharing our posts to let people know who the heck we are and what our campaign platform is :)

20.01.2022 Today's weather was a mix of sunshine and sideways rain and the worst time to run out of coffee, but I still managed to lady-tradie some corflutes up at the Magic Hand Carwash and in Grovedale. Interesting article in the Armstrong Creek Times about waste management of toxic petrochemicals. What are your thoughts on stores selling them in the first place? #belindaforkardinia
19.01.2022 Good morning legends! Do you know an extraordinary woman contributing to the Geelong community? If so, please nominate her for the Annual COGG Women in Community Life Awards and help us to celebrate amazing people. Reminder that this award is inclusive of gender non-binary and trans people. Check out the COGG website for more details: https://bit.ly/3mTOJ2V Hope you have an awesome weekend!

18.01.2022 COVID-19 and isolation have forced some of us to change the way we go about our day, including working remotely, travelling only when necessary and adjusting how often we shop. This nifty carbon counter can help you calculate how your carbon emissions have reduced, with handy tips on how to make an even smaller carbon footprint on this earth
17.01.2022 Busy day of putting corflutes up in Kardinia Ward and hanging out with legends. Feeling super grateful for everyone's support and help with the campaign x
17.01.2022 Lady tradie afternoon with besties. Thanks Al for the helping hand with the campaign
17.01.2022 Turned my front lawn into a veggie patch. Zucchini fritters for everyone!
16.01.2022 What a fabulous initiative and excuse to eat more bread
15.01.2022 Hey legends, Have you got a computer that you're not using anymore? Have you upgraded your laptop to a snazzy one over Xmas but the old one's still okay? Save it from the tip and donate it so that it can go to a family in need. I'm privileged to have two work laptops so I'm going to donate my iMac to someone in need. The digital divide is real and together, we can help bridge the gap. Check out our website for dets: https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au///8d89c36788ae752.aspx
14.01.2022 This dynamic infographic is an incredible example of why our system is broken and needs urgent change. Unconditional housing and a living wage is possible but why isn't it so? Poverty should be a relic of the past - not a vital part of a global corporation's profiteering strategy. Check out this interesting snapshot and comment your thoughts below. https://mkorostoff.github.io/1-pixel-wealth/
14.01.2022 Hey legends, I was on the radio yesterday, today I'm on a podcast! Check out The Sustainable Hour podcast available at https://climatesafety.info/thesustainablehour332 and also available at the podcast links I'll pop in the comments. Listening to Sarah and Jamie from Wayapa Wuurrk was awesome, and also I'm on there yacking about the upcoming Geelong elections. Also if you have a front yard in Kardinia Ward where you'd be happy to host a poster of my ginger noggin, please contact me in the comments or PM me. Thanks a million x
14.01.2022 Happy Holidays legends! Hope you're all enjoying the balmy weather and recycling your paper Xmas-cracker hats. Bought myself a new t-shirt and hoops as a present for smashing a bunch of goals and getting through #binfire2020. Thanks for all your support throughout this year, I'm extremely humbled and grateful Wishing you all a safe and sound #NYE2021
13.01.2022 Hello and welcome! Just a quick video to introduce myself, I'm a candidate for Kardinia Ward in the upcoming Geelong council elections. I've decided to run because I'm frankly tired of the lack of council action on the urgent issue of climate change (among other things) and my poor mates are sick of me whinging about it, so I've decided to see if I can use my leadership experience to help make a change for the better. I'll be on radio soon with a couple of spots on The Pulse 94.7FM in case you'd like to hear more about my platform. Authorised by me, Dr Belinda Moloney, Belmont, Victoria.
13.01.2022 Hey legends, how was the start of your week? COGG has launched a survey on our Community Plan which will impact our pretty city over the next four years. LOTS will be happening within that time, including elections, pandemic recovery, climate change action, and hopefully community initiatives that make a difference to those who need it most. Your voice counts and now's not the time to be shy or mince words about how our Community Plan comes together so pretty please, have your say at the link below: https://yoursay.geelongaustralia.com.au/our-community-plan Peace

12.01.2022 Exciting times! Hope to see our local manufacturing and technology industries jump onto building a cleaner future for Geelong and the world!
10.01.2022 We are in the paper today! Put climate first are in the Geelong Advertiser, having a chat about the upcoming election! Within the next few weeks, you'll see our mugs on some posters around town and we'll be on the radio discussing our platform, and what our hopes are for our pretty city's recovery after a pandemic including some climate and community-focused strategies. We'll be tagging our appearances in the media on www.putclimatefirst.org in case you miss it.
10.01.2022 I almost fell off my chair reading this, but it can be done! By switching to renewable, clean energy and using afforestation strategies to increase carbon sequestration, we can collectively work towards carbon neutrality and reducing the effects of climate change.
10.01.2022 Time to give the council a piece of your mind. Have your say in the draft sustainability policy before it closes this Wednesday 9th. My two cents is that these documents rehash existing initiatives that weren't delivered from the last election until it was conveniently close to the election (hey, let's finally acknowledge a climate emergency now that it's in an election year!), they don't indicate clear targets with urgent timelines that will affect change in the way we need. The wording is vague, the action plan is light on actions and having a zero-carbon emission target by 2047 is as pointless as shutting the gate after the horses have bolted. What are your thoughts?
10.01.2022 Not if I can help it! Congrats to Biden on the victory and congratulations to everyone who voted for common sense in the last month. Climate action is not only vital, but will compliment our post-COVID recovery. Let's do this!
07.01.2022 Spent a sunny afternoon putting up corflutes with some legends after work. Feeling super grateful
07.01.2022 This is getting a bit serious, hey? Check out putclimatefirst.org for more info on the upcoming elections and if you are in Kardinia ward and wanna put one of these posters up in your yard, please let me know
06.01.2022 Hey legends, been doing a little bit of lady tradie work around 3216 so you might see my ginger noggin on corflutes around the place in the coming few days. Hope you are all keeping well and warm. Don't forget to check out putclimatefirst.org before you postal vote this October
06.01.2022 Busy day getting posters out in Marshall, Grovedale, Belmont, Breakwater and South Geelong before I mow the lawn. Thanks to everyone for your support, including Gran and Aimee on the tools. If you'd like a sign in your yard, please comment below. Check out www.putclimatefirst.org for more info on the upcoming Geelong Council elections #belindaforkardinia
06.01.2022 So happy that this award-winning beauty is going to be saved from a wrecking ball!
06.01.2022 Last night, I was officially sworn in as a Councillor at Geelong City Hall. I have been overwhelmed with joy and I have so many people to thank who have helped make this happen. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who voted for me, or preferenced me in this election, the Kardinia candidates, those who helped support the cause, either through sharing or liking our posts, taking our photos or interviews, displaying a corflute, helping with our media campaigns, don...ating and everything else. I feel honoured and humbled by your strength of support. Extreme-super-ultra-mega thanks to the epic Put Climate First team Mik, Monique, Sandi, Elise, Jess, Bryony, Susan and the phenomenal Monica for instigating all this and tapping me on the shoulder, ensuring more women and climate activists were running for council and supporting each other. I feel grateful to have met so many lovely folks along the campaign trail and I hope I can serve the people of Geelong and work to protect our incredible Wathaurong lands. To my loved ones, cheers for not murdering me for yapping on ad nauseum about how late-stage capitalism is utter garbage and like any bin-fire, should be stamped out with a revolution of sorts. We desperately need systemic change that can enable our most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to thrive and we can't do that without fixing what's broken, from the grassroots up. Good governance requires transparency, education and action, so I plan on using my time on council to ensure that our citizen's voices are heard loud and clear. Please feel free to email me anytime with your issues or ideas at [email protected] and again, thank you from the bottom of my little ginger heart. Peace. See more
06.01.2022 Put Climate First, then add cumquat marmalade - thanks for the lovely gift Cr Jim Mason
05.01.2022 Morning legends! Today is national "R U OK? Day" which aims to shine a light on depression and suicide prevention by helping highlight that we all go through ups and downs. It gives us a reminder to reach out to people who have had a tough time, or even just have a conversation about life in general and help us to feel connected. There's no mistaking that 2020 has been an absolute bin fire of a year, but hopefully, on days like today, we can remember that we're not alone in t...his journey and there are people, friends, services, medications and groups of experts out there ready to help if you need it. I want to invite everyone who reads this to have a conversation about how you're feeling today and connect in with someone you know or book an appointment with a professional if you need further support. Please feel free to give me a buzz anytime, I'm always up for a chinwag. Take care out there See more

05.01.2022 Today is council election nomination day. I'm at the VEC office nominating in Kardinia Ward in Greater Geelong Council. I hope we can elect some change agents to help Geelong recover from the binfire that has been 2020! Let's do this! #belindaforkardinia
04.01.2022 Hey mates, I'm a Belmont local, running as an independent candidate in the October 2020 Geelong Council elections. I'm hoping to put my leadership experience to good use and drive serious change, towards the sustainable management of resources and our environment, while ensuring our economy and workforce can thrive now and into the future. I'll be updating my platform soon at http://putclimatefirst.org and watch this space for more updates
02.01.2022 Now is the time to ask your local candidates the tough questions for the upcoming Kardinia Ward forum!
02.01.2022 Due to my booking snafu, my PutClimateFirst.org pal Monica Winston will be taking my radio spot on Mitchell's Front Page today and talking about our fight to ensure climate action within Geelong's local council in the future. Go Mon!! I'll be on in two weeks time at 10am on Tuesday, September 15, 2020! Hooray for everything!
01.01.2022 Why does this not suprise me? "Almost 40 per cent of [ecologists], had been prohibited from public communication about their research" ... covering up an inconvenient truth.
