12.01.2022 Notice for VIC, NSW, QLD (excluding Wide Bay Area / BLL), ACT & NT customers. Aus post has restructured their pricing to a ‘weight range’ pricing system. Unfortunately this has effected businesses that ship items over 5kg - like my small business. Our distribution warehouse Aus Post contract was updated on 16th October 2020 and prices for shipping heavy items have increased as much as 53% to 113% to all areas. We have been covering the extra cost from this date till ...now, but unfortunately this is not sustainable for much longer. Prices will be restructured as of the 1st November to help cover the extra charges from Aus post. We are looking into other options and hopefully will find a better solution to keep freight costs down for you for our heavy items. I am finding it very upsetting to have to increase costs that are out of my control. As I pride myself in brining you quality products at affordable prices. Hope you all understand and continue to use my products. Thank you to all my amazing customers that support my small business. B x See more
11.01.2022 If your horse is misbehaving or out of character, stop and take a look at why. They can’t talk to us and say ‘I am in pain, my back hurts - so get off’. It’s the change in behaviour we need to look at before we blame the horse for being what humans class as ‘naughty’ - rule out pain issues (consult your vet) follow up with a Equine Touch consult to address or find any pain issues - rule out poor fitting tack like tight saddle ect - rule out teeth issues (sharp points ec...t) - training issues, them not understand what we are asking - rule out gut issues like ulcers, toxin issues ect - feed & vitamin and mineral requirements meet activity needs eg not over feeding high energy feed or lush grass - rule out environmental like separation from paddock mates or other horses (they are herd animals) There are many other outside influences that can effect your horses behaviour, please seek help if you are unsure what your horse is trying to tell you. Happy Horsing. B x See more
11.01.2022 A great reminder for ponies on restricted diets. Always have ad-lib low sugar hay in slow feeder hay nets spread around the yard or paddock if your horse is locked off the grass. Never starve the weight of a horse, you could cause more problems like hyperlipidaemia (fatty liver) and colic. Both can not end well! Please consider your horses gut is different to ours. Feeding hay just before riding and working can help prevent ulcers. Lucerne hay is the best options to buffer the acid from splashing on the unprotected gut.
09.01.2022 Ticks on animals. Well in 30+ years of owning horses, cattle & dogs I have never had a tick on one of my animals. I have found a few ticks on clients horses over the years & always have a tick removal tool in my car. Great idea to add a Tick Twister to your First Aid Kit for you or your animals Today I found a small tick on our Stallion, Spirit. So took a quick video on how the tool works (sorry couldn’t film removing the tick as needed two hands - one to keep hor...se occupied by scratching itchy spot and one to remove the tick). Please note, Video does contain a squirming tick. *You can find a great video on YouTube on the Tick Twister. Will post link in comments. See more
