17.01.2022 Teething can be uncomfortable for your little one, but the more you know, the better you can help give comfort and relief to your littlest love. Every child’s experience with teething will be unique to them. If your child is feeling teething pain, there are many home remedies and products that you can keep readily available to help relieve some of the symptoms and soothe their tender gums. These can include: - Gently massaging the sore areas of your baby’s gums with a clean f...inger. This counter-pressure can provide some temporary relief. - Gnawing or chewing on a chilled, damp washcloth can help relieve some of the pressure and swelling. - Certified silicone teething rings are safe for your baby to chew on and can help soothe their gums. Our favourites are from @inderea - When your little one is teething you may find that they are producing more saliva and drooling more than usual. This can cause the skin around their mouth and chin to become irritated, which can add to their discomfort. Gently wipe away any pooling saliva with a soft cloth throughout the day to help prevent skin irritation. - Dribble bibs are also excellent at collecting excess saliva and keeping your little one’s neck and clothing dry - Cuddles always go a long, as do distractions. 11.01.2022 The Australian Dental Association guidelines recommend parents to book their child's first dental visit with the dentist from the time their first tooth appears or when they are around 12 months of age (whichever happens to occur first). During this appointment your dentist will be able to give you advice on brushing, teething, diet and habits such as thumb-sucking and grinding. If your child is between the ages of 2 and 17 years they may be eligible for coverage through the Child Dental Benefit Scheme run by Medicare, which provides $1000 over a two year period for general dental.
