14.01.2022 MEET THE GRADUATE - Renee Sloan, CBTS 2019 Renee Sloan's dance teaching studies were unfortunately interrupted but she recently returned to pursuing a dance tea...ching qualification with the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS). "Returning to studies was definitely a time full of challenges and personal growth. I obtained a lot of new insight, teaching strategies, methods, practises and syllabus information. I received valuable feedback from tutors and mentors and developed some new friendships with fellow students. By having this qualification, I can now enter students under my own studio and continue to develop my skills, network and gain new knowledge through CPD activities. 08.01.2022 Honest question...I saw this in a group previously and was more upset & frustrated than I could articulate. This seems to be the standard more and more within the industry! I am wondering how other studio owners think about the sexualizing of dancers through costumes and movement. ... Some have the view point of moving with the times or staying so called current or on trend Netflix found this acceptable because most of the dance world does as well. I should clarify that I am not assuming anyone here thinks this is ok! I am not ok with this so am doing my part A huge part of my job is to keep children safe, been an advocate, this includes careful selection of dance moves, angles, costumes and music!
