24.01.2022 Do you every wonder what’s going on at the basin when we tone your hair? Whenever we lighten the hair we are removing the hairs natural pigment and exposing the undertone (red, orange,yellow) So whenever you say you throw a lot of warmth this is the reason why and everyone does. This is also the reason we need to apply a toner, to put some colour back in to enhance or counteract what we have. The second last pic is freshly lightened hair and as you can see it’s... YELLOW Our client wanted a creamy blonde so we added a hint of warmth to the roots so they didn’t go muddy and lots of cool to the ends to neutralize! The last pic is the toner which looks DARK but trained colourists know and stick to the colour wheel for best results. 11.01.2022 Being Healthy Hair specialists our first concern is the health of your hair. You cannot have your dream colour unless you have a healthy foundation for colour to hold to. A lot of clients that come to us want lighter/blonder/ashier hair when we first need to improve the condition of their hair.... Sometimes they try to convince us to do the colour they want but we stick to our values of healthy hair and sometimes they can only have a toner and treatment, not foils/balayage. Which is hard to hear no as hair is so important to us. But trust that we have your best interests at heart and you will be better off in the long run. 09.01.2022 How often should I be shampooing my hair?? This is a question we are often asked and there is no one rule. Every case is individual to you, your hair style, lifestyle etc. Someone who exercises or swims daily will need to shampoo more frequently than someone who doesn’t.... Shampooing your hair too frequently however will strip your hair of its natural oils. As a general rule you should be able to get a couple of days between shampoos! If you’re shampooing every day due to oil it’s would be worth investing in an oil detox shampoo to help regulate your scalp and oils to get a bit longer out of your shampoo. And if you’re not shampooing much at all make sure you’re not getting an itchy or irritated scalp as not shampooing enough leaves buildup on the scalp and suffocates it and may prevent healthy hair growth. 03.01.2022 Here are some tips to help your colour last longer! 1. Try and wait 3 days after your colour to shampoo it. You need to let it settle after first having it done and if you shampoo too early you can strip the colour. 2. If you have super hot showers this can also remove the colour too quickly. Try shampooing your hair in cooler water.... 3. Heat protectant! This is a must if you blowdry and style your hair with hot tools. Once again heat removes colour and you must protect your hair. 4. Avoid dandruff shampoos and these also strip the hair of colour and natural oils. 5. Use a leave in when swimming to protect your hair. 6. Try not to shampoo your hair too often. If you go two days before you shampoo try and stretch it out to 3!
