25.01.2022 With Stage 3 Restrictions coming into place this Thursday, it is with great disappointment the BPBA Board has made the decision to cease all competitions, training and programs effective immediately. We would like to thank all staff, volunteers, clubs, members and parents/guardians that have helped basketball return. It was a huge effort to make this happen and we will be ready to start again when allowed.

24.01.2022 ALL games at Bellarine Sports Centre (Drysdale) are CANCELLED for the rest of the night. Games at St. Ignatius and Christian College are going ahead, both venues are bellow 40 degrees court side.

24.01.2022 From 11:59pm on Sunday the 2nd of August all of the basketball community including team officials, parents, staff and all athletes 12 years and over of age must wear face masks on arrival and departure from the venue, as well as inside the venue, except for participants or officials during competition. Does this mean all people in a stadium should wear a mask at all times parents, staff, players and volunteers? Yes - Parents, staff, volunteers, team officials must wear a ma...sk at all times. Players do not need to wear a mask (but they are able to at their discretion). Do referees need to wear a mask? No, referees do not need to wear a face mask, however they may do so, if they choose to. To help with the new restrictions we have Storm masks coming soon. They will be available in kids size and adult size, the Storm masks are $15 each and you can pre-order now. Stock will be arriving in a few weeks.

23.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS Unfortunately due to external venues now changing their access we have to delay the season start for the JUNIOR competition until the 20th of July. We are disappointed with the delay but it is a necessary decision that had to be made. We have also received new advice from the State Government that the easing of restrictions for Seniors may now not occur, based on this advice we have stopped taking team registrations for Seniors until further notice. ...This means the Winter Season for SENIORS is now delayed until further notice. We will be in contact with all Senior teams that have registered to explain the process from here. As a result of the delayed season start we are continuing to take court bookings for team training, Monday - Friday next week. 22.01.2022 For those that play at Christian College can you please make sure that you are NOT parking in the Staff Carpark and that you are entering the stadium from the back of the venue, not the front entrance. Below is a map of where you should be entering from. If we dont stick to these rules then we will be unable to use the court and will have to reduce the amount of teams that we are able to take.

19.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE We have just been informed that The Bellarine Sports Centre (Drysdale) is not available for Thursday the 30/07 and Friday the 31/07. We are extremely sorry for the late notice but ALL game scheduled at the Bellarine Sports Centre for Thursday the 30/07 will be cancelled. Games at Christian College will still go ahead.... Also Aussie Hoops on Friday the 31/07 will also be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding with this very rare circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

16.01.2022 PLAYER REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN As we get close to the start of the Summer 20/21 season we have opened player registrations. As a reminder ALL players must now register for each season, the BVC fee is only applicable once a year though. For players that registered in the Winter season you will receive an email with the details to complete your registration.

While we are heading in the right direction with COVID-19 case numbers and are pleased to see the further easing of restrictions for regional Victoria, unfortunately, indoor sport is still located within the Governments last step. We continue to discuss with Sport and Recreation Victoria and advocate for a clearer path for basketball to return as soon as possible, when safe to do so. As of September 17, Regional... Victorians can participate in outdoor activity and training as per the Roadmaps Third Step. In alignment with our Return to Sport Guidelines the restrictions are: Regional Victoria FOR 18 YEARS OLD AND UNDER: Current Reactivation Status = ORANGE-20 Contact and non-contact training for outdoor training only FOR 19 YEARS OLD AND OVER: Current Reactivation Status = RED-10 Non-contact training for outdoor training only

06.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE BPBA BOARD It is with great regret that the BPBA Board has decided to suspend all domestic competition and all basketball programs effective immediately. The following is a statement from Basketball Victoria CEO Nick Honey regarding COVID-19. ... Basketball Victoria has made the decision to suspend Basketball Victoria related programs, events and leagues from now March 13, until further notice. This includes ALL VJBL games, Big V games and the Country Championships being held in Ballarat this weekend. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we work through this difficult period. This is a decision we dont take lightly and want to reassure the basketball community that we will continue to work with the Victorian Government and other health authorities to ensure the health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees and staff are maintained. Further updates will be provided in the coming days and weeks.
