In a close game, the girls lost to Chelsea on Saturday but went on to win against Warrandyte in an emphatic way! Heres the highlights from that weekend!

While we are heading in the right direction with COVID-19 case numbers and are pleased to see the further easing of restrictions for regional Victoria, unfortunately, indoor sport is still located within the Governments last step. We continue to discuss with Sport and Recreation Victoria and advocate for a clearer path for basketball to return as soon as possible, when safe to do so. As of September 17, Regional... Victorian's can participate in outdoor activity and training as per the Roadmap's Third Step. 23.01.2022 FLASHBACK FRIDAY - Part 2 The Storm womens team played against Western Port Steelers, away from home, in the last round of Big V 2019. The girls finished the regular season with a 16 point win against the Steelers, ended up 4th on the ladder and made it to the semi final series. Heres the highlights from round 18!

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS Unfortunately due to external venues now changing their access we have to delay the season start for the JUNIOR competition until the ...20th of July. We are disappointed with the delay but it is a necessary decision that had to be made. We have also received new advice from the State Government that the easing of restrictions for Seniors may now not occur, based on this advice we have stopped taking team registrations for Seniors until further notice. This means the Winter Season for SENIORS is now delayed until further notice. We will be in contact with all Senior teams that have registered to explain the process from here. As a result of the delayed season start we are continuing to take court bookings for team training, Monday - Friday next week. 22.01.2022 With Stage 3 Restrictions coming into place this Thursday, it is with great disappointment the BPBA Board has made the decision to cease all competitions, training and programs effective immediately. We would like to thank all staff, volunteers, clubs, members and parents/guardians that have helped basketball return. While we never had the privilege of Col coaching in Bellarine colours there is no doubt many many players and coaches have been impacted by Col over the years. Our deepest sympathy for Cols family.

17.01.2022 FLASHBACK FRIDAY The Storm women travelled to Hawthorn for Game 2 of the Semi-Final series in Big V 2019. The Magic came out strong from the get go and won the game (73-59) and the series. Great acheivement for our Storm womens team, making it to the finals in our first season in Big V. Heres the highlights from that game!

Also Aussie Hoops on Friday the 31/07 will also be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding with this very rare circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

12.01.2022 To aid athletes in physically preparing for upcoming VJBL tryouts we will be holding outdoor fitness sessions in the coming weeks. These sessions will be conducted in line with covid-19 restrictions and are aimed at reducing injury risk for players when they return to the court. Sessions will be open to any athlete who has registered for our VJBL tryouts via the link below. Those registered will be contacted via email to advise of the session times and venues. Please note th...at attendance at the fitness sessions is not compulsory for Bellarine Storm selection. Permission to train is required by any player who’s most recent VJBL club was not Bellarine Storm. VJBL have advised that permission to train and clearance forms are not open at this point so a written letter/email from the current VJBL club stating the player has the permission of their current VJBL club to train with Bellarine must be completed by an authorised staff member at that club. The Bellarine team finished the season with a 7 point win on the road and finished 8th on the ladder, missing a finals berth on points difference. Heres the highlights from that night!

08.01.2022 New Check In Process There is a new check in process in place starting tomorrow (Friday 17th July) for all Domesic games, development programs and Rep games/training at Bellarine Sports Centre and Christian College. All you need to do is use your smartphone and follow the simple steps to get in the venue. Remember you have 10 minutes to enter the venue and you must exit the venue immediately after your session is over. BPBA staff will be there to assist you if you have any issues with the process.

07.01.2022 From 11:59pm on Sunday the 2nd of August all of the basketball community including team officials, parents, staff and all athletes 12 years and over of age must wear face masks on arrival and departure from the venue, as well as inside the venue, except for participants or officials during competition. Does this mean all people in a stadium should wear a mask at all times parents, staff, players and volunteers? Yes - Parents, staff, volunteers, team officials must wear a ma...sk at all times. Players do not need to wear a mask (but they are able to at their discretion). Do referees need to wear a mask? No, referees do not need to wear a face mask, however they may do so, if they choose to. To help with the new restrictions we have Storm masks coming soon. They will be available in kids size and adult size, the Storm masks are $15 each and you can pre-order now. Stock will be arriving in a few weeks.

For the following age groups: Under 12 Boys and Girls Under 14 Boys and Girls Under 16 Boys and Girls Under 18 Boys and Girls Under 21 Boys and Girls While this year may look a little different with no confirmed date for the start of the season we are still committed to providing our teams with the best possible chance of competing at the highest level of junior basketball and with this in mind coach positions integral part of our structure.

04.01.2022 Bellarine Storm are seeking expressions of interest from junior players intending to try out for Storm VJBL teams in the 20/21 season. The current covid-19 restrictions mean that decisions on try out dates and the process of how try outs are conducted may vary from previous years and will be made at short notice. Expressions of interest give our staff the ability to understand how many players we are likely to have at tryouts for each age group so an appropriate try out can ...be arranged when government restrictions allow. It also enables us to ensure we have the required coaching staff for teams in each age group, and have the opportunity to seek information from coaches with knowledge of the player to assist in the selection process. It is important to note that due to covid-19 restrictions players will need to be pre-registered for tryouts through this process to ensure we are able to meet maximum numbers of participants and staff for each court during our tryouts.

In a game with many lead changes, and a crazy three from Jason Reardon at the end of the 4th quarter to force overtime, Storm went down 107-105 to the local team. Enjoy the highlights!
