23.01.2022 WEEKEND WORKSHOP | I love flowers and one of my goals this year was to have fresh flowers in my house each week. Since arriving in Brisbane 2 years ago, @soulpantry has been a firm favourite of mine. They always have amazingly beautiful flowers and plants and a great range of organic or sustainably sourced products. It's the perfect place to go for coffee and find gifts. The other thing they offer is workshops. Last year my then 11 year old daughter was desperate to learn... how to make terrariums so we headed to The Soul Pantry for a workshop. It was super informative and Patricia had a wealth of knowledge to share. Our terrariums are thriving and suffice to say when I stumbled across their floral arranging workshop I jumped at the chance to grab a friend and book it. Patty delivered another fantastic workshop and I created a beautiful bouquet to take home. The skills I learned will a great asset for my weekly floral blooms and for the occasional photo shoot I'm sure. Swipe to check out a few of my workshop pics.

23.01.2022 R U Ok? | 4 years ago my brother lost the battle with his demons. For months I asked myself could I have done more and the battle with anxiety was real. Talking to others helped me come out the other side of the dark cloud that hung over my life. Im grateful for the people in my life that helped me to find joy again. Today more than ever, its important to talk to each other. Get the support you need and remember that "this too shall pass".

19.01.2022 I came across this stunning outdoor fire on @resident.dog as I'm scrolling through dog pics - as you do when you have a pooch. The rain is gently falling in Brissy which a change from the usual sunshine and I'm enjoying the sound on our roof. I love this fire and can just imagine entertaining on Winter's day with a warm fire crackling nearby.

06.01.2022 I love cooking and I thought how nice would it be to start sharing some of my favourite recipes with you all. Here's the first, Sticky Date Pudding, such a yummy winter sweet. I tested it out in my new Thermomix but Im sure you could adapt it to suit your mixer. Ingredients Pudding... 60 g unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for greasing 200 g pitted dates 300 g water 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda 170 g raw sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp natural vanilla extract 170 g self-raising flour Sauce 250 g pouring (whipping) cream 200 g brown sugar 130 g unsalted butter, cut into pieces 1 tsp natural vanilla extract Preparation Pudding Preheat oven to 180C. Lightly grease a straight-sided loaf tin (22 x 8 cm) and line the base with baking paper. Set aside. Place pitted dates into mixing bowl and chop 8 sec/speed 7. Add water and heat 5 min/100C/speed 1, then mix 10 sec/speed 4. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula. Add bicarbonate of soda and combine 3 sec/speed 2. Transfer into a bowl and set aside. Thoroughly clean and dry mixing bowl. Place raw sugar into mixing bowl and mill 10 sec/speed 9. Insert butterfly whisk. Add butter and mix 10 sec/speed 4. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula, then mix for a further 1 min/speed 4 or until light and creamy. Mix speed 4, adding eggs 1 at a time through hole in mixing bowl lid until combined. Remove butterfly whisk. Add natural vanilla extract, self-raising flour and reserved date mixture and combine 5 sec/speed 4. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula and repeat mixing if needed. Pour mixture into prepared tin and bake for 50 minutes (180C) until golden brown. Allow pudding to cool in tin for 10 minutes before transferring onto serving plate. Set aside and keep warm. Clean and dry mixing bowl. Sauce Place pouring (whipping) cream, brown sugar, butter and natural vanilla extract into mixing bowl and cook 5-7 min/80C/speed 4 or until desired consistency is achieved. Pour sauce over warm pudding and serve.

05.01.2022 DESIGN TIP | A floating vanity gives the illusion of more space and allows floor tiles to extend right to the wall making the floor appear larger. If your vanity floor waste cant be moved a shallow plinth can be designed to hide pipes and still give your vanity a floating appearance. 04.01.2022 Updating your soft furnishings is a great way to freshen up your colour palette without it costing a bomb. Throw pillows are a great way to add a pop of colour and even texture. A textured, neutral blanket adds warmth and luxury to any lounge room. 02.01.2022 Today's bloom. I just couldn't go past these sweet jonquils at @ashgrovefresh. We grew them as kids and now they always remind me of my Mum. They have such a distinct aroma and you either love it or hate it. In my eyes, they're a sweet addition to my dining table.
