09.01.2022 Are you still unsure about the JobKeeper Payment Scheme and what the steps are to access it? The ATO have very kindly put up some videos to help the community understand the scheme in simple terms. 08.01.2022 JobKeeper Payment Scheme updates that you need to know, now. The due date to enrol for the initial JobKeeper periods, has been extended from 30 April 2020 until 31 May 2020. If you enrol by 31 May you will still be able to claim for the fortnights in April and May, provided you meet all the eligibility requirements for each of those fortnights. This includes having paid your employees by the appropriate date for each fortnight.... For the first two fortnights (30 March 12 April, 13 April 26 April), the ATO will accept the minimum $1,500 payment for each fortnight has been paid by you even provided it is paid by 8 May 2020. We are so pleased that the ATO has recognised the strain and pressure that tax practitioners and their clients are facing over the JobKeeper Payment Scheme. The Federal Government has,announced grants of $25k to people who build a new home, or undertake substantial renovations in an effort to keep tradies employed over the next 12-18 months. What you need to know:... - To be eligible as an individual you must earn below $125k OR as a couple less than $200k (based on your 2019 tax return) -Building contracts need to be executed between 4 June and 31 December 2020 & construction begin within 3 months -New homes must be valued less than $750k including land -Upgrades to existing properties must cost between $150k and $750k, with property value less than $1.5m before renovation -Funds can't be used on add-ons such as pools or garages -Grants can only be used for a property you are living in, not an investment property
