23.01.2022 So who would have thought it would come to this??? I am now a takeaway Cafe, otherwise pretty much the same but with abiding by the the rules. In actual fact I have always boiled your cutlery and steamed your cups, just didn't Glen 20 your money etc etc.... So my clean hands invite you to pop in panic buying permitted, as I now physically have to close occasionally to go and buy my food - maybe, I still supply the same. If anyone feels it is risky but misses my pies and s...ausages roll, scones, soups etc, I can make then for you , freeze if you wish and you can take them away to have at home when you wish. So will post if I find it to costly to keep running, but the occasional time I am closed dont assume it is for the term, I just have to every now and again. 19.01.2022 Thanks for all the comments on the pies, yes they have always been a huge hit and according to the truckies and ardent Pie eaters some of the very best in the country,. Much as that is great for the Cafe and the cook, me, I am not sure that is what I aspired to be when I was much younger...... an Artist maybe and think I got there with that one. As the lovely lady, who now helps me run the Cafe, and I were sayiing whilst preparing a bench full of assorted pies "Am over this...!" They are totally homemade, pastry and all, very unique in their ingredients and far too labour intensive the demand committs us to a life of constant production. Anyone for Fish and Chips ???? Just so you know our current species are Steak and Vegs - yes real chunks of beef, Beef & bacon or mushy pea or mushroom. A heavy pie tha is a complete meal in itself for $7.50. Our beef sausage rolls are unique and come with a homemade chutney and cheddar or mushy pea and fried onion filling, at $5.50 probably twice as big as most. Now winter is here we have increased our range of Filo rolls, be it a meat, vegetarian or desert version and of course the homemade soups are back on. Come and check it all out. 18.01.2022 CORONA UPDATE If you are feeling the isolation pinch, remember that I do have a very large garden , part undercover. Within the confines of the current regulations you can have my usuals as takeaway, coffee, homemade pies sausage rolls, scones or place an order with me. So come and get some really fresh air and take in the local attractions. I might be best to give a call first as periodically the now Takeaway will be closed, but I will advise here or simply call on 0414...697083 good luck all, if we are to isolate and keep social distance lets hope all do because the sooner we seriously "abide" the sooner this could save Australia. 31st March, closed from 1pm and Wednesday. 12.01.2022 So it has come this this I am now officially a takeaway, otherwise same. open to the best of my ability 6.30 - 6,30, now just because I am occasionally closed, as I now have to go to the shops to get supplies,this does not mean I am closed for good, just a few hours. If sign say I am open I am, if its covered I am temporarily closed. So otherwise the same, doing my best with lack of supplies but be sure I have always boiled yoru cutlery and steamed your cups, iI just didn't ...Glen 20 your money !!! good luck with your life coping with the way things are panning out. 05.01.2022 our pies have always been our most sought homemade food, no preservatives local meat and our own pastry. After many request for battered fish I ave recently addd this to the menu and naturally the batter mix was a new challenge. Well it appears to me a big hit, personally I cant eat the stuff so it is hard for e to know, but feedback has been great, so come along and give it a try. We are open 7 days a week, although Mondays and Tuesdays can be a day when we are not open all day in order to pick up stocks. Easiest way is just to give a call on 40 67 5073.
02.01.2022 Sorry have not got back to some of the lovely people who have visted the cafe,your kind comments really help. Personally i am not a facebook user so pretty ignorant of its workings. It is just time making nearly all of your own products fills in the quiet gaps in the day which at 13i is long enough!! So to receive appreciation is wonderfull, i tried hard to be different and innovative, i also try to suit your taste buds. A cup of coffee is not one glove fits all. Many ...people are suprised and maybe even a little frustrated when i try to prize out the details. My coffee is important to me so I feel that yours needs to be just right, so if you do decide to come here please dont say thats perfect unless it is, it is no troubke to tweak it. as i usually say The scones jam cream continue to be a big hit so I am again making speciality muffins , my latest lemon lychee and lemon myrtle is proving a big hit, my sticky date with wattle seed and mocha soft centre also.... Basic fish and chips with homemade tartare are also being promoted again still at a low price of $ 10.75. Of course the pies and sausage rolls are the most popular still. 02.01.2022 given the much warmer weather we are now offering more "cool" food. Of course the homemade pies and saugage rolls and always availale and the scones fresh cream and our own real fruit jam. Our new speciality is crab and salad wraps wih our very own dressing. and delicious terrines.It is never oo hot for a great coffee, try in the afternoon with a dash of baileys, so smooth......please pop in, apparently I am told I should mention the art that is on display, pretty much for the interest value rather than the sales. It is all mine and I really appreciate all of your lovely comments.
