23.01.2022 So were packed again! Moving it all back to 122 Albert road Warragul tomorrow morning, ready for when we reopen some day!!!! Were going to make a party of it though because we have just hit 30 years since I saw my first client... A home visit ! And here we are 5000 clients later and developing our telehealth skills ! Always a new adventure...

23.01.2022 Such a fabulous infographic to understand what is going on below the surface...

22.01.2022 What a fabulous attitude...

22.01.2022 We are really loving our telehealth sessions and the way that their parents have been so supportive and setting them up for success. A quiet location with headphones on, or active participation with a parent if a younger child has been fantastic.. thanks for your support in this transition as we work to a new mode of assisting you and your child to achieve their goals..

21.01.2022 These would be so much fun to create. Make sure that you add the language. You could encourage your child to request specific colors or pieces and talk about exactly where they are going to put them. For example; I want to put a blue piece on the tip of its trunk: etc Have fun explaining what things mean and adding to their vocabulary... talk about what words mean....

13.01.2022 Not all communication is speech. Around 1.2 million Australians have communication disability. Though, communication disability is largely invisible. Unseen an...d out-of-sight. Thats why during Speech Pathology Week (23-29 August), we strive to raise awareness of communication disability and the important work speech pathologists do to ensure every Australian is communicating with confidence. This short video highlights some of the many and varied ways Australians communicate. www.speechpathologyaustralia.org.au/spw2020 #SPweek #SpeakUp4CommRights #WeSpeechies #SLPeeps #slp2B

06.01.2022 Without phonics students are left to guess. And without semantics and syntax students are left to guess. A slice of pie is incomplete, one requires the whole pie.

05.01.2022 I have just come across the Useful Psychologist.. a wonderful resource for parents. Here at Bellfield we are doing everything that we can to stay connected with our clients.. but our clinicians are feeling it too.. weve got this guys..were reinventing the way we do Speech Therapy but the learning curve is steep ! See you on your next appointment over the next couple of weeks.. and then we will be able to settle into a routine as the therapy process becomes more familiar.. thanks for your patience with us guys..

05.01.2022 Feeling for all the mums who are juggling virtual work from home and home schooling..

04.01.2022 USING THE THRASS CHART TO DEVELOP PHONEMIC AWARENESS Phonemic awareness is an undisputed and powerful predictor for early success in reading and writing. Phonem...ic awareness is the ability to hear, identify and manipulate the individual spoken sounds of a language (phonemes). English has 44 speech sounds (phonemes). Phonics is the process of writing down individual spoken sounds using letters and letter combinations to produce written words. This requires alphabetic knowledge. The iThrass app for iPad is the perfect tool to teach the 44 phonemes of spoken English. The app teaches the correct articulation for each phoneme, how the phonemes can be manipulated to produce spoken words and introduces phonics using a multi-sensory approach. iThrass also provides and introduces the alphabet and letter names. Using the app, learners are able to practise naming and identifying letters and learn how letters are used to represent the phonic patterns for spoken sounds (phonemes) in spelling and writing. For those wanting to learn the International Phonetic Alphabet, this chart is also now included in the app. Available for iPad only via the App Store.

03.01.2022 And its the context that determines the meaning..

02.01.2022 What more can I say.

02.01.2022 Some maths ideas
